I have always loved animals, and see the wonder of God in all of his creatures, so when I saw my first miniature horse back in 2000, I knew I was going to want to come back and look again.

To see those curious adorable cute faces, peeking back at me was just too much for me to resist..

in 1998 My husband had moved our family into a 1 1/2 acre horse property lot , and although we had no intentions of getting horses, that soon changed, after seeing our first miniature.

Since I am not the type to get into any type of animal without really getting involved, I learned how to do farrier work so I would be prepared to trim the hooves my own.

My good friend, and farrier taught me all that I needed to know, and over saw my first years work.

All went well with my little trio of miniature horses for the first few years, as my knowledge about them increased as I learned more about good health and sound conformation.

Years later, I literally stumbled across my first Champagne miniature horse by accident trying to help a friend sell her horses.

After evaluating him to help her sell him, I realized that I liked him better than my own cremello stallion.

So I prayed about the prospect of getting him, but realized I would need to sell one of my own miniatures to do so. I knew if this wasn't the Lords will, that everything would still be just fine the way it was..

But before long the doors of opportunity started opening up, with someone in California calling me out of the blue, days later to ask me if he could buy one of my mares.

Things started becoming a possibility, and before I knew it I had my first Classic Champagne miniature stallion in my pasture.

I soon discovered early on that regardless what mare I crossed him with, the resulting baby was strikingly beautiful, and correct. Even mares with slight conformation flaws we starting seeing as an opportunity for Prince to correct.

After having a few amazing foals of our own, we decided to sell all of my mares in foal to Prince, and start offering him exclusively to outside mares.

We soon discovered that people not only loved the cross, but are returning with more mares to try new crosses.

This 2010 breeding season has been our busiest yet, taking in 7 mares in a few short months.

They have all settled and their owners are excited for the resulting foals.

We have bred many different body types this year, as well as dispositions, and a variety of exotic colors- from Silver Bay, to Jet Black, to Appaloosa, a couple Pinto's, and a red roan, and a Chestnut.

I feel honored to be in a position to take in other peoples mares for breeding, offering Farrier work, and providing some mentoring on the side.

Over the years, I have made some wonderful friends, that make owning miniature horses even a more rewarding experience.

I suppose you could say that when it comes to horses, we have discovered that the miniature version can be just as rewarding as the full sized, and has been an added blessing from the Lord in our lives.
