'Retired' (due to VLE related head injury - I'm not that old yet!
) veterinarian.
Past equine experience includes breeding/training/showing homebred warmbloods, primarily ATA registered Trakehners, and 10+ years on the racetrack with Standardbreds, both while in school and in practice. I did have one miniature horse breeder as a client when I was in practice, but that was some time ago. I was also a longtime breeder/trainer/handler of CKC registered Rottweilers & Pugs for 20+ years. Unfortunately, due to post accident complications/disabilities, I found it necessary to place all of my horses and most of my dogs.
After facial reconstructive surgery and brain injury rehabilitation, I am doing better, although I have not been able to return to practice. I live on a 20 acre hobby farm with my son, his two small ponies, three dogs & two cats! Been thinking about getting a miniature horse for recreational driving, as I am no longer able to ride. After looking around the forums for several weeks, I decided to sign on and introduce myself, so that I can pick your brains - with what I have left of mine!
