    What I thought I bought............

Thank you for sharing the feeding regimen and the vet's precautions for this mare with us. After rereading the thread, I noticed that you had already posted other vet and dietary information on page 6. Thanks again for giving us such a good picture of your thorough care! Pam

    What I thought I bought............

Kudos to you for the wonderful care you've given this mare! Would you be comfortable sharing information about the feed program you've implemented for her? If so, I think many people and horses could benefit. Pam

How much do you pay for a good teeth floating?

This year, the veterinarian who does my minis' teeth charged $15 for the office call (yes, I haul the horses there for the appointment), $25 for the anesthetic, and $190 for the dentistry itself, including removing points, leveling ridges, leveling incisors, leveling hooks, reducing, rounding...

    Great show in IDAHO!!!

Hi, Kim! Thanks so much for posting that you had a good time yesterday in Caldwell, Idaho, at the All-Star Mini and Shetland Show Club's 1st Annual Performance Show. Might be the only performance show, actually, as we are seriously contemplating a full 2-day show for next year. My husband...

    Need AMHR show schedule

Since the AMHR website is a work in progress, there's no longer a link to this year's show calendar. Would you PM me if you have the entire 2006 AMHR show schedule and are able to attach it to an e-mail for me? I would be so grateful to receive it! Thank you! Pam

    Show Grooming

Having scrolled to the last page of the article, I found a clue that might help you find the author. The grooming ad belongs to Gary Purse and Gwynne Shaw. Either of these talented show veterans could easily have written the article. You might try e-mailing them at [email protected] to...

I'm doin the happy hot-water dance!!!

That's awesome, Suzanne! Now Sassy will have one more reason to think she's special (which she is, of course). I bet those lucky horses will enjoy warm baths in the summer as much as you'll enjoy the warm water being right there in the winter, too. Pam

    Another colic for Freedom...

My vet suggested adding a teaspoon of salt, daily, in the grain/beet pulp mixture, especially during changes in the weather, so the horses will maintain or increase their intake of water. This has seemed to be quite effective for my horses no matter what the weather is like. I'm glad to know...

    Please proofread

I believe that sentence number six needs a colon after "poems," because that's where the list of poems begins. Sentence 9 doesn't need a comma; it has a compound predicate with one subject. Thank you for wanting to do a fine job on your homework! Please let us know how you do on this...

    Starting an AMHR club

Another thing to do is check with your Secretary of State's office to see if you need to register as a corporation. That will also require submission of your Articles of Incorporation with the by-laws. Here in Idaho, the fee is nominal. In Idaho, registering entitles the club to enter into...

    Why not DNA a stallion

Well, he was born more recently, so I do wonder! As far as I can tell he has not previously stood to outside mares. Pam

    Why not DNA a stallion

I sincerely appreciate your views. I thought it was odd the stallion isn't DNA'd but needed to know if you would concur. Pam

    AMHA/AMHR look-up, please

Thanks, everyone, for the information. Mark and Sharon, Portia was training my gelding(elementary student) during the time she was training Barnaby(high school/college student) at her facility. I hold Portia in high esteem, and I respect her ethical and humane treatment of horses as well as her...
