    Seeking ulcer treatment advice

If you can get Purina Outlast in your area it works well for ulcer prevention once they are under control. My mini gets 1/3 measuring cup twice a day. It can be given 3 times a day if needed. It also comes in a bags of 2 sizes, the smaller one is about 10 lbs and lasts me about 6 weeks. Costs...

    Grooming question

If it's just for a day or so, like a photo shoot, I've had good luck with baby oil.

    Walking/Hiking with your minis 2024

Walked about an hour with Oatie this week, it's a guess. I'll have to keep better track.

    Driving Discussion 2024

Thanks! We are all a work in progress, lol. Hubby and Mom go for tests in a few weeks and my mini Cappy goes to Tufts for a CT scan of his head on the 22nd. His sinus infections returned and he may have a fistula from between a tooth or his gums up in to his sinus. And I get my back injected...

    Driving Discussion 2024

Well, I've been doing a little ground driving over the winter, just enough to be able to enter some online classes "Walk Only" dressage classes to alleviate the boredom. Some days it's just throw the harness on and video between the rain storms and crumby weather, but we get it done. Sometime...

    2024 Hours Driven

Well I've been ground driving Peanut occasionally and hand walking Oatie practicing our "Walk Only" dressage tests for the month. Probably about 2 hours total for April. I have to start keeping track better but things have been hectic here and I just plumb run out of gumption :D !

    Billy

They look long but not long enough to take 1 1/2 inches. That seems like a lot of hoof to remove. Even for a big horse that seems like a lot of hoof. Do you have any pictures of his foot from the side, on the ground? He's looking pretty darn cute in those ears!

    Hoof abscess or laminitis?

Ouch! Bet she feels better now!

    Hoof abscess or laminitis?

Oh that's too bad, I'm lucky my vet's office always has someone on call. So many vets around here don't do after hour emergency calls anymore, they tell you to ship to the clinic which is not feasible for a lot of people. Makes horse ownership difficult.

    Hoof abscess or laminitis?

Just had a thought, I bet your vet would have them, maybe they'd let you pick some up? You could run the symptoms by them too.

    Hoof abscess or laminitis?

You can order them on Amazon too I think. I meant to add that if you do decide to poultice, there are a bunch of good you tube videos on how to make a duct tape bootie and kinds of poultices. Just make sure to only use the duct tape on only the hoof itself and not get it up on the coronary...

    Hoof abscess or laminitis?

Does she have a digital pulse in that leg? I'd go ahead and treat it as an abscess, can you get Animalintex pads? Tractor Supply usually has them. Those are great for drawing out any nastiness. Plus if it is laminitis, making a duct tape bootie over one of those pads will also cushion her...

    2024 Hours Driven

This month I ground drove about an hour with Peanut. The footing has been awful this winter. It's so much better with snow instead of mud that thaws and freezes into a lunar landscape. I've sent out emails to everyone requesting addresses today for the ribbons, I've gotten many responses...

    I Did a Thing...

He's a lovely pony. He sounds a little bit like one of mine temperament wise. Mine is a little hot and can have a nervous edge. Sometimes he needs to get an initial trot out of his system before he settles, and sometimes it's a big trot :D for a few strides. Circles and serpentines relax him...
