    Information please

That's going to depend on a lot of things. Does your trainer have some good advice?

    Scratches

Kind of looks like a boo boo to me, but it probably wouldn't hurt to clip it and let the air get to it. I'm pretty sure they use diaper rash cream on scratches, desitin? Might help if it's scratches or a boo boo.

    Skins issues....

Could be almost anything from mites or lice to ringworm or rainrot. Pictures might help. But sometimes you can't tell without scraping it and testing it. I get a little grossed out by anything itchy so I usually throw everything at it. I'd go through a bath day, clipping her if she is a little...

    Amha mini hours log program

Does anyone participate in it? Can you tell me if it's still active?

    Best time to clip

Good luck with not being covered in hair yourself. 🤣 I started wearing a mask to clip. Breathing in all those tiny hairs is probably not good for us.

    Best time to clip

I'd just clip him now. I'm in PA and I've done a winter clip for the october show we have and had the coats grow in enough. I did have to blanket overnight for a few weeks. Actually, come to think of it, I'm usually still clipping my show horses this time of year.

    Billy

Sorry to hear he's not doing well. Arthritis can be tough, they say keep them active. You are already doing pretty much everything I could think of to help it. If it's laminitis it's not the end of the word, although your vet is probably going to give you a hard time. They don't always lay down...

mini horses as pets in cities

And they had a healthy respect and maybe a little fear of horses. Now people don't have that horse sense. I tell them stop playing with the colt's nose a hundred times and they think I'm a mean jerk. Then they get bit and I have to kick them out. People that want them find ways. Just like the...

    Flies

I have with gnats, not flies.. I use the spot on fly stuff...I usually get freedom45 from tractor supply. I think they get an allergic reaction which causes them to rub and make it worse. I make sure I put a little right above the area they are getting raw, even if the directions don't say that...

mini horses as pets in cities

I agree with HersheyMint. Besides that, the trouble of getting and storing hay in a city, manure disposal, having access to livestock vets, and mini horses getting loose in heavy traffic. Most (not all) minis that small are dwarves and come with their own set of health problems. Horses can be...

What's your best weight loss advice?

Trust me, I spent quite a bit of time looking at that belly, which very clearly looks like a pregnant belly, muttering "you better not be pregnant, you fat little snowball" Especially since she didn't come into heat until last month. Which is why the vet was out today. 🤣 She was not pregnant...

What's your best weight loss advice?

I've had her about 6 months, and hopefully she is pregnant, but she should only be about a month in. Vet will be out tomorrow to hopefully confirm. I was told there is no way possible she was pregnant when I got her.

What's your best weight loss advice?

I've never had this problem before. I got a new mare who was a little underweight when I got her. I put her on the same feed that everyone else gets, and she started gaining weight. Then I started working her. Light work 3x a week. Then she started looking a little too plump. So I cut back her...

A cat toy as an aid!

That is a really great idea!

    Bellcrown Cart fitting

I would think wheel size and shaft size. Also how it balances. I don't think one size really fits all for harnesses or carts. Just being a little over 36" doesn't mean it won't work. And being 36" doesn't mean it will either.

    Jeffrey’s update.

Someone taught me that when it's time to teach a horse about fly spray, fill an empty one with water. That way you can spend the time getting them used to it without wasting expensive fly spray or getting way too much on them. And, of course, you can always spray it on a damp rag and rub it on...

    Jandts bloodline

She's very pretty, and such a fancy mover. You must be very excited! I'm a little surprised more people haven't chimed in, I know we have some members that follow bloodlines very closely.

Are your babies born with blue eyes?

I would think what color their eyes are when they are born would be fairly definitive. 🤣 But what I'm seeing is that some do have blueish eyes but most do not. But in my case it looks like it was an indicator of the cream gene. His face shed out black, but now it looks to be turning buckskin...

    Jandts bloodline

I've never heard of them, but it looks like they have been breeding for a long time. I hope you have some luck finding someone who has more info than I do. And definitely post pics of your mare once you get her!

    New Trailer with Pics

Ooooh, that's really nice. I've been thinking about getting something the minis can see out of, but that's out of the budget for now.
