    You guys are so lucky!

    New Puppy

If she's pretty good at coming and sitting for you when there is no car, then the car has her attention and not you. Focus building exercises would help if that is the case.

    Nipping

I'm a John Lyons fan myself. I went to one of his clinics many years ago. I have used the 3 second rule.

    Fencing

Cattle panels holes are big enough they should not be able to catch feet. Typically they are 6" x 8" at top with a couple of rows of 4" x 8" at the bottom. They are welded, so there should not be anything to catch and pull out hair. I would have all my fencing done in cattle panels if I could...

    What to do?

I have never taken a break from horses and I don't ever intend to, because I'm afraid I wouldn't have the gumption to get back into it. I've been trying to get back into riding again and it took me six months to buy a new saddle...

Slow feed net over a round bale?

Well, it was working wonderfully, until they made a mushroom out of the bale and it fell over. At first only a small area was unprotected, but that quickly changed. I had placed the bale in a corner so I was able to put a couple of corral panels up to limit their access. Boy, was Jaci upset...

    Quidding question

My oldie is 27 this year. She choked badly a few years ago. She started quidding hay last winter. She doesn't really get feed hay anymore although she has access to it. She lives in the field my round bales are stored in. She gets soaked senior, alfalfa/bermuda pellets, beet pulp. She eats...

Modifying/ figuring out how my harness works

Ok, well, that isn't going to work in it's present form. The shafts can't be that low or that far back. It looks like it would hit her elbow with every step. From what I've been told, the shaft loop should hang straight down, and the shaft tips should be past the saddle/girth but not past the...

    2023 crafting for all...

You'll have to show us what you come up with. I do foist my creations on people. I haven't made anything yet with the intention of keeping it. I don't have room to keep them. No one has complained so far...🤣

    2023 crafting for all...

Butterflies are always popular. Caterpillars and snails would be easy. A praying mantis would be cool. But having a deadline would take the fun out of it. I don't ever tell people I'm making something for them. I only work sporadically on my projects and usually have more than one going on...

Slow feed net over a round bale?

Well, good news, the minis got used to the hay net without any problems. And I love how neat it's keeping the hay. The bad news is I need one with smaller holes. It's still better than trying to regulate access to a bale though.

    A problem horse

One other thing to mention, is he an "only" horse? While some adapt to being alone, horses are herd animals. Some will develop problems.

    Rosie's Training Journal

My first harness was a nylon one size fits all miniature horses. It never fit right, although I was able to make do with some tweeking. The only way I was able to keep the blinkers away from the eyes was to remove the brow band and wrap a tube around the blinker stays because there were no...
