    2023 crafting for all...

Naw, I'm so slow working on my craft projects, they won't even notice. 😝 I'm glad to I'm not the only crazy girl that likes reptiles and insects. I know we're not alone, but working in a hardware store everyone comes in wanted to kill everything.

    2023 crafting for all...

Thanks for the kind words. I think I have enough paper clips for a millipede. and possibly, an army of ants 😜 I think bugs are fascinating, and play important parts in the world.

    2023 crafting for all...

I hate posting this after that beautiful pony! This is paper mache. I have an over abundance of paper clips and this little fellow used up eight pink vinyl coated ones. My version of a Grandaddy Long Legs.

Items for keeping minis on your property for the first time

So I'm assuming you have power since you have a well? You'll wants some lights. For peace of mind, you might want a security camera, or game camera with SIM card that can send pics to your phone.

Slow feed net over a round bale?

I'll have to see how the 1.5" holes work. Might not be small enough once they get used to them. My one biggie won't have access to it. I've noticed they don't really make hay rings for minis. Square bales would be nice, but I don't have any place to store more than a few.

    Rosie's Training Journal

The field sounds like a nice reward for a job well done. But if she's not doing her job well I would not put her over there right after working. An occasional bad day I wouldn't worry about, but if she keeps doing it.

Slow feed net over a round bale?

Thanks DB Minis. DJ wears a muzzle most the year, so I think he will get used the hay net without too much problem. Jaci is a long two year old and has petite hooves still. Hopefully she will adapt to it without getting in trouble. It hasn't arrived yet to see how stretchy it is. I will...

Slow feed net over a round bale?

Thanks, guys. All these years with minis, and no problems until I got DJ. And of course, Jaci seems to be taking after her sire.

    Adventures!

Cool! I was thinking about a partition for my trailer, I think it's 12 long. I'm glad to hear you've been so busy in a good way.

Slow feed net over a round bale?

Has anyone one here tried a slow feed net over a round bale? I just ordered one. The smallest openings I could find is 1.5 inches. It isn't the knotted kind. I thought that would be easier on their teeth/lips. My concern is for little hooves getting caught in the netting. I've looked into...

    Adventures!

Very nice! I agree that tunnel looks suspiciously like the pony eating variety. I love that your trailer has that partition. How long is your trailer? It's good to hear of your adventures again.

    Rosie's Training Journal

Some horses are started in blinkers, some never wear them. So I think it's just whenever you decide. The zig zag is her not staying between the reins. I would guess too much slack in the reins and she doesn't feel any guidance from you and just does what she wants. Going down hill she is...

Yes, that could do it. Also, if the snaps are different, that would also change how it feels to her.

    Aggie Update

How fantastic she is pain free and no longer having breathing issues. She was so lucky to have found you, and that you were willing and able to take such good care of her.

Maybe start your training sessions in the second from top ring, work her through whatever your routine and then switch to the top ring and work her through your routine. You may have to do this over several sessions, until you feel she's totally comfortable on the top ring. Also, you may want...

However you decide to attach your traces to the single tree, just remember it's important to be able to disconnect quickly and easily. You might try quick release snaps. I use them to connect my traces to the single tree. Not a good picture, but you can google carriage driving quick release...

    Rosie's Training Journal

I would suggest, if you haven't already, you get her used to being in between shafts and have her used to actually pulling something before you actually hook her up to your cart. Pool noodles and then PVC pipe can be used for shafts and many people use tires for them to drag. Mindy Schroder...

    Heart murmur

Did the vet not indicate anything other than he had the murmur? I would think if it were severe, he would have said something. Hopefully these responses have helped. I do know, personally, that a heart murmur can sometimes be harmless, and I hope that is the case for handsome Pumpkin.
