I'm with you on that. As much as I'd like another equine, worrying about whether they would fit in and get along, or, cause chaos, stops me. Plus, I've never gotten a free animal that didn't cost me a lot of time, worry, headaches, and money to boot.

    Weaning time

I feed all mine a complete senior feed and have for years. Young and old alike. Pregnant, nursing, growing foal. I'm like you, I needed one feed for all my equines. I add mixed alfalfa pellets and other supplements when/if needed .

    Meet Kingsley

You may have to build him up to a canter. A lunge line changes their balance. Make a huge deal with praise when he breaks into a canter and stop him or tell him to trot after a couple of strides. The idea is to stop him and reward him before he goes back to a trot. Or ask for a trot before...

    Purpose of Whiskers

I quit trimming eye whiskers after one of my horses injured his eye the day after I trimmed them. Eye injuries are horrible.

    2023 crafting for all...

I've never sold anything, but enjoy giving my paper mache as gifts. I didn't have anyone in mind when I made Thunderstruck the mini pony, but I finally found someone for him. I didn't tell her his name and it turns out she used have a pony with a similar marking on her shoulder. She was...

    Intro to new mini?

I don't have any of my minis in with my biggie. I just don't want to risk it. I've been around horses a long time and have seen crippling injuries. I know a lot of people have mixed herds and each situation/horse is different. Not trying to be totally negative, just pointing out that even if...

    I Did a Thing...

I'm not surprised, since he was a show pony, that his tail was "broke". The tail bone isn't actually broken, they cut the tendons on each side in order to create two "breaks" to enable then to wear a tail brace for show. It has to be done young, so there are a lot of pleasure horses out there...

Deciding on a new cart....Need advice

I also love the look, feel, and smell of leather, but I will never have a leather harness. If you don't properly store it, keep it clean, and keep it oiled you may have an accident waiting to happen. Too much trouble for me. My first harness was nylon. It didn't fit properly and the straps...

    Pony Express - van conversion

Wow. I'm impressed. The only reason I could think of for you to be letting the Pony Express leave was to go bigger, but my oh my, you've done it big style! Love it, and can't wait to see finished out and on adventures!

    Arena mirrors

Any place that sells plexiglass should have plexiglass mirrors. Wouldn't that be the same thing?

Nerve damage and muscle atrophy of forelimb and chest

You might want to research Sweeney Shoulder. There is a nerve that goes over the edge of the shoulder that can be damaged by an ill fitting collar and cause muscle atrophy.
