    Adventures!

Sorry, I had to laugh at them taking your picture. And you taking a picture of them taking a picture. Even their horses were impressed, look at those ears!

    New Puppy

I don't consider a dog fully mature until 2 years. But I think generally people think anything over a year is an adult. Pepper, being a small breed, has pretty much finished growing "up" but still has some filling out to do. On some dog food bags they will say adult is 1-6 years, 7+ senior.

    2023 crafting for all...

Marsha, he is about 4 3/4 inches tall to hair sticking up taller than his ears. If measured like a real pony, he's wider than he is tall. And I was thinking about all our fat little minis when I decided to make him. I love your slow stitch. Is that an old school? Is the tiny key from a...

    2023 crafting for all...

He started out as a ball of aluminum foil and was my first foil armature. His legs are toothpicks. I used leftover paper mache clay but it only covered the top half of him. Then I decided he was awful and set him on a shelf for over a year. Every time I moved him, his toothpick legs would...

Thank you, Marsha! And Mary Flora, I LOVE your guess, maybe I should stick with your version!

    2023 crafting for all...

Finished mini pony Thunderstruck finally. Paper mache clay over foil armature and toothpick legs. If anyone wants to hear the story of how he got his name, let me know.

What a wonderful horse he is turning out to be for you!

    New Puppy

I would definitely look into training classes and continue to take her places. At 10 months she still very young and impressionable. Most dogs come into their own until closer to 2 years. Playing games with her that she can "win" and simple training exercises that she can master can boost her...

    donkey gelding

I was told that donkeys are more likely issues with bleeding following castration. Something about the way they are made makes it more likely for them to die after the procedure than a horse.

    NAMING NEW MINI

I was told by a trainer two wheel carts with brakes puts a lot of weight of the cart on the horses back when you brake. When the wheels stop turning the cart tilts forward. Something to consider. I am glad he is working out so well! He seems so wonderful! What a relief!

    Walking/Hiking in 2023

The ground must shift quite a bit where I live 😂

    Billy

Your place is so picturesque! I've thought about making a track for DJ, but upkeep would be a nightmare. So he wears a grazing muzzle and stays in a half acre paddock. I don't have a dry lot. The only way I could have a dry lot without constantly having to till/scrap, or grade, would be to...

    Billy

Oh no, I feel for you. I am glad it is something that can be managed and not something more serious. It still sucks though.

Help with some ground manners during PARADES!

I don't know if this will help you any, but I have one that if I lead her with a loose lead she's fine. If I get nervous and start putting pressure on the lead, she will put pressure back the whole time. Not only forward, but towards me.

I'm glad Billy is doing so well by himself. :)

    Baby's first farrier visit

My first trims are done with the helper sitting on a stool holding the baby across his legs. It doesn't matter if they are halter broke, but I would not recommend it for a wild child. And it's only good on small foals, all four feet can't reach the ground. Then the corner and the wall like...
