    Training to lope??

Can you set up a situation where she would like to canter and just allow her to go into a canter? If she doesn't buck when it's her idea to canter, then at least you'd know it's not the canter. If she does buck, I think going to a travois would be the safest way to work it out.

    Miniature Steer

Wow, he's adorable! But a possibility of 900#? I guess it would be up to temperament. If he doesn't turn out to be sweet and laid back, or if the don't get along....Also cows are harder on fencing. The fencing thing is why I don't have cows. I had a Zebu at one time.

    Walking/Hiking in 2023

I walked Jaci a quarter mile Wednesday. I took her around the solar panels to see if she cared, didn't. Down to the woods with a few sideways glances here and there. Did a few circles just inside the woods. Came back up and toured the backyard for the first time. She didn't much care for...

    Gardening

We've had warmer than normal spring, with a couple of cold snaps thrown in. My pear trees were devastated. There's a few sprigs of green leaves here and there now, so maybe they will survive. My youngest fig lost most its leaves, but they are coming back. Plums are ok. Saw the 6' rat snake...

    Crimson Rose Training Journal

I understand many of the benefits of teaching them to lower their head on cue. Can I ask what the benefits are to asking them to lower their head all the way to the ground?

They are all so beautiful! Beautiful couple in front of some beautiful flowers, too. I'm kind of partial to the speckled one.

    Living Alone With Minis

Sounds like you've gotten a lot of useful advice. The only other thing I would like to add is when you are deciding on your horse shelter and hay shed, that you'll probably like to have enough room for the equipment you'll need to maintain your property and take care of your horses.

    Driving gloves needed

My favorite gloves are Bionics. Thin leather with stretch panels to accommodate arthritic joints. Shorter finger length that I need also.

    Singletree help

It should as long as there is no interference(hitting parts). Unfortunately, the type of singletree you have there is just going to dangle until you hook up your traces and you won't know until your pony is in draft whether there will be any interference. You can hook up and pretend you're the...
