    Annie got out!

@MerMaeve ~ "Speed walking and grazing!" 🤣 That describes what Annie does when I go out to bring her off pasture! I know just what that looks like! Lol

    Your Drive Day

My neighbor's dogs have been getting out again. We have an easement where there is a long drive back to our home past the neighbors that have land in front of us. We drive the horses down this road regularly. I know I posted before that the dogs had chased Annie and gave my husband the ride...

    Drivin' Thru 2022

Looked at my calendar and realized I forgot to record the rest of June in the thread! We have been driving over to and around my neighbor's property a couple of times a week. June 22 - 70 minutes for Rocko 70 minutes for Annie June 24- 35 minutes for Rocko June 27 - 30 minutes for Rocko 30...

    Edelweiss Training Journal

Can't wait to meet them!!!!! My two driving horses are 35" and 37" but sometimes I wish they could put the holes a little closer together on the harnesses for adjustments because an inch on a mini can make a big difference in some places!

Rats! Didn't think of the way it would affect Dapper Dan. Sweet that he is staying close by, but you are right, now you have to keep him moving. I am praying this can all be turned around for her like Abby has mentioned. The sprinkler idea was brilliant by the way!

    Your Drive Day

Nova was walking faster than Stormy yesterday!…. And he was trotting!! 🤣🤣 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ That's funny! Did you say how tall her parents are?

My retired driving horse has been steadily gaining weight so I started up doing some ground work and ponying him with the golf cart. Instead of treats I have been giving him a couple of timothy hay pellets. I feel your pain through Marsha! I have to feed all three of mine separately 3 times a...

    Annie got out!

She is doing great. I notice she has been hungrier than ever after she stretched her stomach to the limit! The gate to the dry grass pasture was closed that night but it looks like she went all around the edges eating where the mower the doesn't get to. Got a new lock and I think I should...

    Annie got out!

She is her usual. Was afraid to check on her this morning! Her manure was spread all over her dry lot, indicating she had been running around. She is full of energy so I'm getting the feeling (hope) that we may have dodged a bullet! If she is still good by tomorrow morning then I'll breath a...

    Midnight

The vet did say to keep Annie confined in a stall on soft footing if she got sore. But so far so good. Makes me think I should get some of those dry bags suggested to have in my first aid kit. Feel so bad for Midnight! Praying tomorrow is a better day.

Oh no, sorry to hear this!!!! When Annie had the laminitic episode before her feet were not hot either. It lasted one day. Hope it resolves quickly. Keep us posted.

    Annie got out!

Thank you for the encouragement Abby! You know first hand what the wait feels like. So glad Rowan was alright! There are 30 acres behind me which is irrigated for cattle and the fence was down all night as their fence guy just ran the new wire today, but that is where our ditch runs along and...

    Annie got out!

Thanks you guys. Her temp is normal so I have that baseline. Can't feel a pulse (at least it isn't pounding!) and her feet are cool so far. Vet said to just keep monitoring her like I am doing. I drove Rocko today and saw two piles of poop way out in front of one of the dry pastures that would...

    Annie got out!

I am trying not to freak out, but this morning Annie was out on the only area of green grass I have. The person who gave her to me said she had a slight episode of founder. Maybe she meant laminitis. Anyway I have always introduced her to green grass very slowly starting with 10 minutes at a...

    Edelweiss Training Journal

Thank you Edelweiss! You are right. He does cheat. Has zero problem with relaxation too. Lol. I have two driving horses which are by nature the exact opposite! Looking so forward to following your thread. Excited for your new guy! (I'll go back to the lunging.)

This pyramid is a great illustration. Thank you for posting it! We were doing better with impulsion, but now my guy is starting to slack again. The temps are rising here so I need to start working with him earlier. How do you ask for impulsion? I cluck, but when I don't get a response I tap...
