So today we got our 3 boys a new home! 20 acres of start from scratch, where to begin, derelict property that was a farm back in the 1800s. It is in Windsor, just East of Gainesville Fl. New barn, fencing, arena, dressage field, cross country eventing course, workshop and our dream house...

    Too fat on basically air?!?

Is he your only mini? Mine is on grass 24/7, unlimited Tifton, Timothy pellets (about 1 quart each) and whatever his big brother drops at breakfast, (the TB gets 3 quarts Nutrens 12% pellet, Nutrina Topline Balancer, glucosamine, hoor supplement and Mare Magic) That being said the three of them...

Help with Figuring Out/Harnessing To Vintage Sulky

It looks more ornamental then functional. The shafts look to be metal and too big a diameter. If it were mine I would hitch it to a minature donkey statue. I purchased an old carft and found that it was more time and money then getting a proper cart. The cart does have some very nice metal work.

    Donkey Question

He is adorable! Mine changes color a little especially in the winter. We had only taken care of a standard donkey and knew nothing about him. Ours is still intact and we have no plans of gilding him. I do love his VERY loud bray for his breakfast! He will learn very quick to trust.

    Donkey Question

Our donkey was a feral 9yo jack when we got him about 1.5 years ago and he and my soon to be 3 mini get along great. The donkey is more playful and definitely the instigator of our 3. The 2 minis are 30 inches and even our 16.2hh ottb playes tag and tug of war with the little ones. I don't think...

    Feeding/Diet Regimen & Hay types

In all my years with the full size versions I have found the healthiest horses were the ones treated like "horse". There are always exceptions but a horse is a horse and for the most part know haw to take care of them selves. Trust you gut, ask your vet and ferrier but most of all listen to your...

    "PAINTED" minis

My wife loves Pandas and we found a life-size one at a flea market. The bamboo is about 80' tall and hard to get 1 arm around it. We have 19 species of bamboo and 4 types i feed to the horses as a snack and supplement. That is River, my wife's 16.1 ottb with the panda.

    Feed room?

How many use an enclosed trailer for a feed room? I have a 6x12 that is a dedicated feed/hay room. I like the fact that I can tow to the feed store and they load the bags and hay. Saves me moving almost 1000lbs each trip. No issues with critters getting into it and it was much cheaper then...
