    Roadster cart

You can buy pin stripe on a roll and do it yourself. Doing straight lines isn’t hard at all. It goes on like tape, then when you know you have it exactly where you want it take some clear finger nail polish and put a thin coat over it to protect it and keep the edges from rolling up.

    Roadster cart

If it were me I’d paint the whole thing black with burgundy pinstripes, and have the seat done in burgundy. Then ,as Marsha said I’d have the wheels powder coated black and pinstripe them with burgundy also.

    Question about transport!

Years ago ( way back in the late ‘70’s ) I met a man that hauled his mini in an LTD 2 door. He just removed the back seat and the lil guy gladly climbed in and out.

    Wine or Whiskey?

I’m a Ky bourbon kind of guy. Wild Turkey Rare Breed, or Woodford Reserve Double Oakes Are my brands of choice. I keep trying different wines but so far I haven’t found one I like yet.

Fusion boots - Active or Trekking?

I’ve been wanting some of these for years, but my worry is how long do they last? How often do you have to replace them? I’m planning on going on a long wagon train next year and really don’t want to replace them several times just training for the ride.

    Fairier

I got lucky enough to find a very good one on the first try. As far as I can tell after the first time he is a keeper. He seemed to be honest and gentle with my little guys. Luckily his main job is only about 10 minutes from our place and he live very close too. I had tried to get ahold of 2...

    Fairier

I have always done my own hoof trimming. I’m slow and really not very good. Because of some health issues they have gotten beyond my means, and I am not able to get in the position that I need to be in to get the job done. I finally broke down and hired a fairier to come and get my little guys...

Talk to me about 4-wheeled vehicles

with either a team or a single hitch 4 wheeled vehicle or wagon, there is very little weight on the animal. The shaves or team pole pivots up and down. Depending on the suspension ( if any ) obsorbs most of the bumps. The width of the tires will determine the drag though mud and heavy grass.

Coloring your horse for the show ring

All we ever did ( and it was rare) was fix sunburn ( or mainly moon burn ) . No fancy shading or eye tricks just a plain old dye job to show them the way God had made them.

Coloring your horse for the show ring

40 years ago when we were showing minis we used regular ol hair dye on our black horses that were sunburned. We even had a couple that would burn so bad that we only put them out at night, and even then a stallion that we had would moon burn. Anyway hair dye is all we had at the time but like I...

How much weight can Shetlands pull, round bales?

A team would be able to move 1000# easily, especially using something like a car hood or a ground slide of some sort. I will be doing that sort of jobs with my 2 mini donkeys.

    Your favorite barn hacks !

Hay strings are great for anything and everything. I’ve repaired halters with it, and even made a halter once when I had bought a horse and when I went to pick her up had forgotten to bring a halter. I always keep hay string in my trailer, a quick braid and there you go. I wouldn’t try it on a...

    Contraption

I agree . Some people know everything about everything and never ask for help or get help from someone who knows about what is being built wi no regard for the horses, ( or mule or donkey ) or there well being.

    Contraption

It has the look of a circus cart set up ( I forget what it’s really called). I’m not saying that I would use it, but that’s what it has the look of. Where it attached to the saddle sort of like a gooseneck trailer.

    Feeding grain....

I have mini donkeys. I feed in the afternoon when I get home. 12% sweet feed. Just enough to keep them coming up when I come out the back door. And free choice hay.
