    Basic training for mini gelding

Thank you everyone so much for the advice. Like I said I am still very new at this and it's so encouraging to have so many people willing to help.

    Basic training for mini gelding

Hello Everyone, I have had Winston and Aggie for nearly an entire year, and a large portion of that time has been spent loving on them and letting them know they're safe and can enjoy being horses. Now that Winston has put on a healthy amount of weight and gotten stronger, I have recently found...

    HPR 2023 Foals!

I love how mini mare turn into fluffy little footballs when in foal. Can't wait to see the babies.

Pulse visible in mini mare's neck.

Her asthma has been acting up and she had a bad day again with the farrier. She's had a lot of past trauma.

Pulse visible in mini mare's neck.

Hey everyone, This may have beem there before but for some reason while I was giving Aggie her nebulizer her neck caught my eye. A visible pulse is running up her neck on the left side. While also visible on the right side it's a tad more prominent on the left. I'm an EMT but don't know horse...

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Thank you everyone for your advice and support. Other horse owners and I are talking about having a discussion with management here. Have some happy photos of my little cowboys. Happy Haloween!

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Friend of mine lost her horse that way. Barn caught fire in the middle of the night and the workers only had time to free the horses in unlocked stalls.

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Best part is they're raising the prices too.

    Possible pistachio ingestion

We are also forbidden to lock our stall doors for "safety concerns." This place is garbage and I cannot wait to get out of there and move to Los Osos.

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Yes it's very public and the fence is horrible. We've had transients sleep by our horses, and I have MULTIPLE signs asking not to feed them. Nobody follows those. To make things worse there's a pony riding center and area where you can have parties. I've caught people feeding chips and cake to...

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Thank you. I've talked with the manager and their reply was along the lines of "sorry it's a public facility." Winston seems to be a-ok. Thanks again.

    Possible pistachio ingestion

Hey everyone, So Winston and Aggie are kept at a boarding facility, which is unfortunately open to the public on the lower half all day. I found a soggy pistachio shell in Winston's food bowl in his stall and now I'm concerned. Since anyone can roam through the facility for all I know some moron...

    Mini mare breathing problem

Aggie has been on steroids for 3 weeks now, and her respiratory rate has been more than halved. She trots on walks now and sometimes throws her head and jumps around. Thank you everyone for your kind words and help.

    The end of an era...

Rest in peace sweet boy. I'm sorry for your loss.

How did you decide to have a minihorse?

I would desperately love to teach my mare Aggie to drive. The rescue agreed that she seems to have some training for driving (but we're trying to get her asthma under control first).

How did you decide to have a minihorse?

I've never liked riding (hate it in fact), but have always loved horses and caring for them. Rather than deal with all the comments of "you have a horse but don't ride?" I went for minis as my first horses. Also, they're the cutest little things and its adorable how small they are. People's...

    Fly Spray Question

My baby girl Aggie is getting chewed up on her forelegs as well. Definitely going to rinse them off more often too. Thank you!

    Fly Spray Question

Fly season has been awful. Thanks for the advice on traps. Yeah the fly masks have helped, but I feel terrible. My minis have gone over a month now without 'good' fly spray. I thought I could find a good alternative but so far haven't found anything that works well. Is there any evidence that...

    Fly Spray Question

Hey everyone, I am looking for a new fly spray, and was hoping to find one that doesn't have poison in it. I'm personally concerned about the stuff I'm spraying on my minis, when it says right on the bottle to avoid contact with your skin. Any good brands out there that don't have all these...
