    Possible first mini

They are doing wonderfully! Aggie is not pregnant (thank God) and Winston has put on weight nicely and his skin and coat have improved.

    Baby Watch Is Over

Has mama started producing milk? It's pretty crazy how they can sometimes foal with no warning or signs! Congratulations, and glad both of them are doing well!

    HELP IS THIS NORMAL!!!

I have never seen anything like this on the forums (I've been a member only a few months but checked threads occasionally in years past). That took a really rapid turn.

    HELP IS THIS NORMAL!!!

    Poor little mama 😂

    Im officially on watch

Oh my goodness. Good job mama and congrats on the cutie! I would love to have a mini foal one day (though I'd be a nervous wreck).

My mare is driving me crazy! xD What do you guys think??

Congrats on the foal! Awesome that she actually gave you a foal in the morning. Heard so many cases of mares having them at 2:00am.

Friend of mine had a (full sized, mind you) mare go 375. She took her sweet time.

    HPR 2022 Foals

Poor little baby. Praying for a miracle tonight.

Minis reluctant to play in turnout

Hello everyone! Winston and Aggie are settling in nicely in their new home, but I have noticed that they have no interest in running or playing while in turnout. They'll each have a couple rolls, and then spend the entirety of their turnout nibbling at twigs and dead leaves which I try to keep...

    HPR 2022 Foals

Amen. Luke 12:6 comes to mind. God even watches over the little sparrows. He definitely sees this little foal.

    HPR 2022 Foals

So tiny and adorable! Glad mom's okay. And wow, 279 days. What a tough little filly. So an infected placenta can cause a mare to foal early right? I'll be sure to be praying for both of these two minis.

    Mare Watch Thread

Definitely looks like a baby bouncing around in there! My goodness she's fluffy!

    Possible first mini

Hey everyone, So I didn't get a mini after all. Things just worked out differently than I thought they would. I GOT TWO. Meet Aggie and Winston (1st and 2nd photos respectively)! Aggie was at a home to become a therapy horse, but didn't get along with the others, and needed a home. Winston...

    Possible first mini

Hey everyone, as a possible alternative to hay pillows (since for the first couple months she'll be at a public boarding facility and employees there will be feeding her primarily) I might get a rubber mat or two for food to be put on to cut down on how much dirt she intakes. I would have to...

    Possible first mini

Mod removed them since she technically isn't my mini. If everything works out I'm posting loads of pictures!

    Possible first mini

Thank you! Definitely getting mats for her, and having sand clear on hand just in case is going on the list. The rescue has 15 more minis coming in from Oklahoma on Saturday and I'm hoping to find her a friend then. Preferably an easygoing gelding.

    Possible first mini

Yeah it was really sad. I spent months with this mini yearling colt. I was there when he was gelded, I taught him to trot on command, not to spook when I shuffled my feet etc. Then the person I was going to get him from cut off all communication from me and had a friend of hers tell me never to...

    Possible first mini

I've looked at them and I'm glad to hear others like them! Probably ordering from them.

    Possible first mini

She's on teff right now. Depending on what I do with her at the boarding facility food will be provided. I heard (and experienced firsthand) that minis are especially vulnerable to ingesting dirt. Would you recommend a haynet for feeding in an open dirt stall?
