Our boys are coming home in mid-October

Cody and Theo are scheduled to start weaning on September 28th and will come home a couple of weeks later. I went to visit them yesterday. Theo, the liver chestnut, has grown a lot, but Cody, the pintaloosa, still seems really tiny. Theo is at least 5” taller than Cody. I was able to catch him...

    Finding a Farrier

Yay! We have hay! It’s still on the truck, but I have to take down a section of fence for the guy putting in gravel for the prefab barn anyhow, so we can stack it on pallets in the paddock-to-be.

    Finding a Farrier

Yes, they are the folks we’re buying from, my original contact and her dad. They have 3 different farms where they cut and store hay.

    Finding a Farrier

It will be by hand, I think. What’s appropriate? The load is $180, plus whatever else we can squeeze on. Is an extra $40-50 enough?

    Finding a Farrier

I spoke with them this morning. I explained the knee issue. They will load for us! 😍 I thanked her profusely! Should I give them a tip for loading for us? I figured I would.

    Finding a Farrier

I’ll live, lol. It’s merely a flesh wound. 😬 I’ve been babying this knee for a few months now. What’s a couple more? I’m going to call the hay folks and see if they’ll load for us. Do you think that would be ok? Unloading shouldn’t be as bad...I think. These are the 2 nutball sisters that were...

    Finding a Farrier

So, I scheduled a truck for Tuesday at 5:30 for hay. Yesterday I had just finished a conversation with my neighbor, Rich. All the dogs were with me. I turned to head up the hill to the house. Dogs were rough-housing as usual. I said come on kids, let’s go. In about 2 seconds, as I put my right...

    Preggers or Fat????

We have a pond and goldfish. It gets too much sun, so I’m forever battling algae. The fish seem pretty happy, and the dogs love having their own personal fountain. .

I made it out to see the boys today. I got to hold Cody. The breeder actually picked him up and held him until I could get my arms around his neck and rump. He squirmed away from me after a couple of minutes. He’s a really strong little bugger and weighed more than I expected. My big poodle pups...

    Preggers or Fat????

😳 Those look like real live teats getting ready for a baby, but I haven’t been around a mare in foal in 30 years, so I don’t know anything. Best wishes! Now I’m stalking this thread, too. 😍

    Hello from KY!

Hi! How exciting to have a new mare and foal. I’m sure your other mare will be happy for the company after missing her friend. We’re totally new to minis, and I have only been on the forum just a few days. We’ll get our boys in October once they’re weaned, so maybe we can compare notes on the...
