    Grazing un-fenced pasture

I agree with temp Electric fence . They are easy to move around when needed and cause far less a damage than horses on chains . I would suggest the rope instead of the tape as I find it much stronger .

    training question--in my space?

Marsha , I get why you asked this question & I’ll give you my input . I strongly believe your minis are just showing you love . If I was locked in a dry lot looking at the pasture, I would snuggle up to you too in the hope you would “let me out for some grass” . Don’t get me wrong , manners and...

Opinions on if my mare is pregnant is appreciated

keep a close eye on her 😊 Maybe keep her off the pasture a little longer and see if her udder decreases a little . Sometimes the vets are completely wrong , so watching her is the best thing .

    Mini mare is possibly pregnant

Keep taking that picture from behind , it gives us a great indication on how the foal is currently positioned . As her udder continues to fill her nipples will fill and point down. 😊

Could I get some opinions please

Mares will just about rub the skin off their backsides as they near foaling . They become irritated with the increase in pressure build up.

Opinions on if my mare is pregnant is appreciated

To look at visually , she doesn’t look pregnant . BUT you know her better than anyone , so I would definitely continue to treat her as she is . Looking at her udder, it could be the start of an udder development or it’s the udder of a mare that has foaled before . I just answered this on another...

    Not pregnant..but leaking

Your vet is right , there are a few plants that can produce milk . If you have clover in your pasture , this will be what’s causing it.

Kandy due soon, need help determining when!

When you have a chance can you take a photo standing directly behind her? say 5+ meters back. It will give us an indication on how the foal is is currently positioned.

    Previously foundered mini?

I would also say to get a vet check done and some xrays to rule out any rotation. On a low sugar diet I am sure he will do fine. I have a couple who have foundered and wear muzzles at the start of spring and autumn.

    How's the Weather ?

It will be interesting to see how your spring and summer fairs. I have a feeling we are about to get the extreme cold winter you had this year !

Looking at her udder Id say you have a bit to go yet..................... BUT seeing as though she is a maiden mare, anythings possible. Mares usually lose the mucous plug a few days to a week before foaling. Id really be watching her like a hawk now. Even though her udder isnt "full" , it may...
