Could I get some opinions please

Your mare is getting close, at 319. Usually that means the foal is going into foaling position and doesn't have as much room to move around in. If a foal is OVERLY active in the last trimester, I worry because something is stressing it. At least that's what my experience has been. Oh, just...

    Question about possible bilateral cryptorchid

Just for the record, AMHA sanctioned shows didn't expect to "see" stallions' testicles until age 3. (Not sure if that's still the case.) So, ditto, about not worrying about your colt. Plus, since he was dumped, who KNOWS what care he received. Lack of proper nutrition can also delay development.

How much space do minis REALLY need?/Am I crazy for even considering it?

I like Taz's idea. And yes, if you are thinking of keeping one mini on your property, you really should plan on two. Be sure they get along if they are to be housed together.

    Foal blanket, any quick ideas?

Also for future -- We stopped using straw as bedding as it can be rather pokey on their eyes and face and navel....So for years we've used grass hay. If mom nibbles on it, no biggie. You sure got a cutie there!

    personality change

Since you have already seen that the change in your gelding is probably related to his friend suddenly being gone. I think you need to address that. He is expressing himself the only way he can and obviously blames you. He is looking for companionship. Perhaps you should let him be with the...

Could I get some opinions please

I don't trust external ultrasounds AT ALL. Traditional ultrasounds are only good when a vet knows what he or she is doing. (When a vet doesn't want to do one and has the machine, it's probably because they don't want to admit they DON'T know how to do one very well.) When a mare is very early...

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Agree with Taz. Bring her in at night now, so she's used to it. A high probability that she'll foal at night.

    Gardening

Seed tape? Is that so you don't need to separate the starts later?

Could I get some opinions please

She could be. I'd check her about once a week to see if her bag is developing and if the liquid is changing consistency.

Opinions on if my mare is pregnant is appreciated

Love her butt marking! My Heart Horse and very first mini has the opposite coloring, similar mark. She's mostly white with a black "bullseye". 🥰

    Trailer

Hi! And welcome! I'm glad you said it was a double axle because that's the most important thing. The other two important features would be a sturdy floor (with rubber mats) AND ventilation. You're going to have to cut out some windows on either side of the trailer for air flow. A metal hook...

Opinions on if my mare is pregnant is appreciated

Just adding my Ditto to what others have said......Treat her as if she's pregnant and that includes NOT feeding Fescue. Her bag looks like something is developing. I'd be giving her lots of scritches daily, and slowly getting her used to you scritching her belly so you can reach her teats. Then...

    Introducing a new horse

    They're both fillies, right?

How do you fix a mini horses tail???

Folks who show use the "blueing" shampoos, such as Elianna mentioned, and then to keep the tail white, they keep the horse's tail in a Sock.

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

My GUESS is probably, BUT I agree with Taz that you should be sure to have everything ready. Like you, we have both newborn foal blankets AND a couple of small dog coats of different sizes because we never know how big or small the child will be. Do you have your Foaling Kit set up?

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Looks like the foal is leaning to the left. LOL. If she's had a foal before and her bag isn't filling yet, she still has a ways to go. She'd probably start bagging up within her last 2 weeks. Plus, in those last few days of pregnancy (sometimes it can be within HOURS) the foal will drop down...

    My Mare is Possibly Pregnant.

Sending Healing Light to Volt..... He's a fighter, isn't he. He still has that Light of Life in his eyes? Needing to loosen up Snicker's blanket sure speaks volumes!

    Winter weather

Sounds like you got him pegged. I have said to a lot of "newbies" that minis are very much like human toddlers...... If there is trouble to get into, they will find it!

    Winter weather

Ditto to what Willow Flats said.

How much should I feed my mini?

Feeling ribs with "moderate pressure" sounds fine. And the hay amount sounds good too..... The grain is to give her additional protein AND vitamins/minerals. I always grain our youngsters through their first year and then make a judgement call on whether to continue grain or just put them on...
