    Ideas for bored minis??

Those are all great ideas! I have a jolly ball in there but that's it. I'll have to head to the dollar store or thrift to see what I can find. I'm glad to hear it's sort of a normal thing this time of year and not harmful....just kinda gross!

    Keeping harnesses clean

Marsha earlier in this conversation said she uses olive oil as well....she said a few different leathersmiths told her to use it so it must be a thing! :)

    Ideas for bored minis??

Hi all! Life has been busy and I haven't had time to get my little ones out as much as I'd like. They get some turnout and have quite large runs but I'm finding that two of them are getting particularly bored and have begun eating their own manure. I can't allow them to munch on forage all...

    Keeping harnesses clean

It is always an education when an experienced professional in their field shares. Growing up we cleaned saddles and bridles at a hunter/jumper stable in northwest Florida in exchange for lessons. The method preferred by the owner (retired and elderly cavalry officer) was mild soap and water...

    Keeping harnesses clean

I'll try to remember. He's booked with leather orders for Christmas so it'll be awhile before he can get to my harnesses. :-(

    Keeping harnesses clean

He's taught classes on the subject and just gave me a lecture about cleaning harnesses...lol...I'm not sure I could repeat everything he said!

    Keeping harnesses clean

I just talked to my leather guy....he's a friend and is doing some work for us on the ranch.....I think I'm going to have him professionally clean them for me and then hopefully I can maintain. He says he has alot of people send their harnesses in once a year or so for a professional cleaning...

Ways to balance an easy entry cart??

UPDATE! We figured out a way to get it balanced! The seat wasn't level and couldn't be adjusted anymore so I rotated the shafts down a bit and hubby fabricated shorter shaft supports.....it worked!!! I don't know if it's the best fix but I can balance it easily with my weight now! No more...

    We did our first parade!!

Thank you! The second parade went really well as well (see prior reply for some pics. The minis are always such a hit at parades! The hat belonged to my father in law...he passed away last year at the ripe old age of 90. It's a little small for me but works for the parades!

    We did our first parade!!

Yes! this one was much busier and very noisy with antique tractors and big crowds. The littles did great though I need to teach one of them to stand patiently...as long as he was moving he was great but when we had to wait for other entries to join the parade he got to bouncing/rearing a bit...

    Anyone use electric sheep netting?

We have used electric netting for sheep for years. I'm not sure I would use it in a small space for horses though....a large pasture, yes..but not a small paddock. If set up correctly and grounded well, it packs a whollop of a charge and I would be afraid that the horses would either panic and...

    Anyone use electric sheep netting?

We ran sheep with electric netting for years and, if set up correctly, it works extremely well.

    Keeping harnesses clean

Very honest and accurate reply!!! Because they are harnesses, I want to keep somewhat clean for safety's sake...and b/c they look better in parades when they're clean(ish). lol!!!

    Keeping harnesses clean

That's a really good plan for the future...but they are in need of a deep clean now. I just did a light clean and kept finding more and more places that really need some scrubbing. I keep them all in harness bags but there is quite a bit of yuck built up on some places

    Keeping harnesses clean

Hi everyone! I have 6 harnesses that I need to clean and keep cleaned/conditioned. Two are pairs harnesses and I'm kind of afraid to take them fully apart for fear I won't be able to get them put back together correctly. I could use all of your best tips and tricks for the easiest way to...

    The Pony Palace is done!

super easy to clean and has gates at either end of the runs. One end opens up to a large paddock for them to play/roam in together. Hubby did well!!!

    The Pony Palace is done!

Yeah, here the weather rarely is too cold or stormy so we can get away with it. I have blankets if the rain is blowing sideways (if we get rain!) but we don't need full enclosure..mostly just shade
