    Older mini horse with issues....help?

Luckily, the myopathy resolved itself...we did a secondary blood test to see which direction it was moving and his enzymes were normal again. I'm not sure what was going on with that. Vet did not suggest any supplements at this time ...or even a balancer b/c he's very picky and not eating well...

    Older mini horse with issues....help?

Thank you. I inquired about his last dental (before I got him) and he was seen by a specialist for minis. Teeth are fine.

    Older mini horse with issues....help?

I'm getting so confused as everyone on the cushings group has said to avoid the senior feeds. I tried the triple crown and he wouldn't touch it.

Complete supplement for picky cushings mini?

Hi everyone! One of my minis was diagnosed with cushings. I have him on low starch alfalfa/teff pellets and/or cubes and am trying to add the recommended supplements of chasteberry, magnesium, vit E and flax. So far, if I add anything to his feed (even a tiny bit) he goes off feed entirely...

Yes! Bryce Baker of Piece of Me Miniatures. Nice guy, great minis! I've been to his place a few times. :-)

I would say it depends on the health and condition of your mini. The nice thing about driving is that it is easier on them compared to weight bearing activities (like riding). I have a 20 yr old who was just diagnosed with cushings...I'm not sure if he will return to driving (maybe) but my 30...

    Hi From California!

Hi everyone! I'm new here! I have 4 minis ages 12, 16, 20 and almost 30! I got the big cart out today for the first time since getting it! The boys did a great job after being a bit squirrelly at first! Looking forward to lots more fun!

    High Glucose Levels

I'm sorry...I don't see where it was talked about. We just ran bloodwork and ACTH was 61. Vet said anything over 50 this time of year would be considered positive for cushings. We have access to all kinds of feeds here (California). He is a quidder so is not able to eat hay (teeth have been...

Hi Cathy....can you elaborate on what you feed your mini? my 20 yr old just was diagnosed and I'm trying to put together a plan for him and stay off the real meds. Thank you in advance!

Harness and shaft assembly for driving triples

So interesting! I think a Troika is similar to driving "three abreast" which differs from driving in unicorn formation...here's a good article for anyone who wants to know: Driving configurations | EHI Virtual Museum

Harness and shaft assembly for driving triples

Okay...the folks at Driving Essentials are amazing. They sent me a list of all of the tack and equipment I have along with current pricing....and the maintenance sheets for my cart. (All of it was purchased from them several years ago so they had the records of everything purchased). I'm very...

Can we talk about crazy manes?

I'm going to work on my guys tomorrow. Undercutting the forelock is a good idea...as are braids. I was half tempted to keep clipping when I was doing bridle paths the other day! lol

Harness and shaft assembly for driving triples

That was part of the problem for the former owner. She couldn't find anyone skilled in that sort of driving to teach her or the minis. The closest she could find was on the east coast and we're in California. :-) She had the cart attachments built specifically for her cart at Driving...

Can we talk about crazy manes?

His everyone! What do you all do for keeping manes and forelocks in check? Honestly, they grow so fast and get so thick.... I just clipped bridle paths and could have made a furry creature with the hair! Not to mention, if you drive, what do you do with a huge forelock when putting the bridle...
