    Preparing for a Parade

I can't believe you didn't practice for a drone! Lol! It sounds like you have a great relationship with your horse. Congratulations on a successful parade!

    PAIRS HARNESS

Jeannie the most important difference in a pairs harness is the breast collars. The pairs collars have two rings that the yoke or pole straps attach to, and there is a brake or balance strap that goes through these rings and attaches to the neck strap. Most of the other parts can use cheater...

    Best pairs book/instructional item

I have Putting to a Pair. Lots of good info. I refer back to it often. I'm now going to check out the Steve Bowers book.

    winter projects

Thanks Paula! This is my Butch Cassidy, my 38" rescue. This photo was taken by my daughter a few years ago at a carriage club drive. Probably one of the last times I drove him in blinkers. Both of my horses are completely home trained by me, both single and pairs. They both are real nice...

Testing. If this works, it was so easy. I clicked on more reply options, then attach file, then choose file, selected one from my photos, then attach this file, then add reply. Easy! I should mention I did it this way on my iPad. I don't know if it would work on a computer.

    Driving Accident Prevention

A few more thoughts: everything in your cart/carriage should be tied down or enclosed. Flying objects just add to the confusion. Carry halter and lead rope, or have them on either over or under the bridle. Carry a knife on your person, if you have to go looking for it in an overturned vehicle...

    Driving Accident Prevention

Some of the things I learned from my accident: always wear gloves. Always wear a helmet. Always carry a cell phone. If it's an organized drive, have the emergency contact info programmed in on speed dial. Having a gator who is also a vet tech was priceless (yeah, I know, most of us don't have...

    My new pairs

Looking good, Tina! Nice to see Sally again, too! (Waves) Everyone looks great! Sugar and Mabes look to be a great team, already in step with each other. I haven't hitched my boys as a pair yet this year, also because of needing a gator and never having any help. We drive on the road, so I...

What is a good cart for the price?

Although I agree that the Fox Lane carts are beautiful and very well made, they are no longer in production.

Pics- My new pairs carriage is finished, well very nearly- lol

Yes, there is a large market for a carriage such as Jules' husband made. However, they are located in Australia, so shipping would be quite prohibitive. Jules had to wait quite a long time for her wheels and springs. And once again, lovely job Jules! Can't wait to see photos from your show!

Where are you located?? Let's get together for a drive!

I am in Frankfort, IL ( horses are boarded in Peotone, IL ). Most times i drive in northwest IN, as I belong to the carriage club there and there are several cart friendly trails available. I go to the National Drive every fall, and look forward to meeting several forum members there every year!

Thanks for the comment on the pinto, that's my boy! We had such a blast in the hyperbike. And my husband agrees with you about the bay (Sally's horse). He said that it was the most perfect version of a horse, shrunk down to mini size, that he's seen. Sally had just brought him back from the AMHA...
