Written recipes or by the seat of your pants?

This is an interesting topic. I once saw a Civil War cookbook, and had a lot of basic stews as they were cooked over a fire, some where you could hang them from a tripod. @diamond c does your Dutch oven have a flat bottom big enough to sit a pie plate in?

    Hi from Texas

I hope someone here can help you. Do you have any photos you could put up so we can appreciate the horse, and maybe someone will see it and get interested?

Pictures Finally of Our Newest Baby

I wonder if there would be any photos in the media area. I was just looking there and saw so many great looking minis.

    Raised homes or “tree” houses

@Zarah, you remind me of a cousin of mine that loves the country and small homes and something different. All those could be covered by living in a tree house and use the space under it for open stable. Or a patio.

    Do people still rescue?

I may have found the way to get a mini, but first I need a bit more land and then prepare decently. I think if I had one it would be more like a best buddy, but then I might try to work with him/her too. Depends on how much more information I absorb from everyone here.

Remember the grief this woman gave people here?

Is that person someone that was on this forum in the past, or just someone that is known in mini-horse circles. It seems to be horrible to have been part of her stable.

    Hi there, I've been lurking.

Wow, you've been busy. I'm glad you're out of the shadows so we can get to know you and Max better. Do you have photos of Max and his living quarters to share. I don't have any animals at this time, but the thought of a mini just really appeals to me, so I hang out and learn so I'll be...

    New/First Donkey!

Moses is a fine looking fellow. How’s it going now with the other animals?

    Your weather week of 1/28/19

Oh my Marsha. I think that’s what is happening to us. We had about 70 degrees today and then a sharp line of storms came through and the temps started dropping. I’m just very glad that there were no tornados with it. That temp drop is what causes me to be wary.

    Do people still rescue?

I was looking though this part of the forum and see where people were doing rescues in years past. Do people still do this? And how would you go about doing this? Sounds as if it would be a way to help a poor mini and get one to love.

    Hello from Camarillo CA

Welcome from Missouri. I'm just someone fascinated by the mini's and learning about them here.

@Willow Flats I love the photo of the rainbow in your break in the weather. Here we should have about 70F here tomorrow or the next day, then colder weather again. Oh with warm weather we get rain.

    Coat color or markings?

That sounds almost like cooking or artistic paint color blending. The horse you describe in your example would be so pretty. I'd love to see one like it.

    Mini-van

Gosh, then back woods of some states here would be shocking. There are many that have loose dogs in the back bed of a pick up truck. Or My mom takes her small dog in the car with her loose, and the dog just lays down in the passenger floor or in the passenger seat. No problems here. Isn't...

    Mini-van

I do think that’s really neat, and probably not so hard to build. I wonder if it could be used for goats also. Or other 4 legged kritters of similar sizes.

Are you warmly dressed and not getting wet when you are out watering them? I bet you are, but I just wanted to make sure you’re not getting wet doing it. Do you layer gloves and mittens? I don’t know how that works.

    Mini-van

Hi all, hope you are staying warm. I came across this during my time on Facebook today. When I saw it I had a good laugh and then thought “I have to show it to my new friends on the Mini forum”. So here it is.

Wow! From -50* to approx 118* F. What a range of temps. It is really interesting to hear about the set up for the way northern members here. I love the idea of the barn with the North and East door so you can control the doors as to which way the wind is coming from. And the horses...

    2019 National Drive Spring Addition

That idea of being a volunteer to learn the ropes and see what it's all about is a great idea. I've not done a lot of volunteering but have enjoyed what I've done. Great idea and I'll need to check into it.

    Your weather week of 1/28/19

I know here in MO we are watching weather for snow and below freezing weather for a few days. I think it's pretty when I don't have to go anywhere, but hate that it causes problems for some of my friends. I've heard Alabama and North Carolina are possibly expecting enough snow to stick and get...
