    Body language

He definitely picks up quick! Which also worries me when I mess up, don't want to permanently teach him wrong lol

    Body language

Hey all! I'm just curious of differences in body language you've noticed between your mini donks and mini horses. I'm having a little bit of a hard time finding much online about what to look for and how to read donks. Merideth Hodges website has been great though and I'm picking up a little...

Hey! It's me again! Life update for fun.

She has options to do either or. Mine was just the nose band. I did manage to snag mine off Facebook when she was practicing making mini sizes, so it did cost less with less customization options. I bought a Weaver suckling size halter at my feed store and unpicked that nose band and put this...

Hey! It's me again! Life update for fun.

Why yes! I got the nose and from her and found a halter at our local feed store. I absolutely love it and it fits her personality so well! I hope to get one for the rest of my critters. :)

Hey! It's me again! Life update for fun.

I did manage to get a few episodes in as a kid lol It's funny you say that! When we first brought him home I thought his crazy hair made him look like a Muppet. I did want to name him Alf or Beaker haha but, alas, I told hubby he could name him. :p I totally think he looks like Alf in this...

    A trend I'm questioning...

Never thought true kissing booths were a good idea anyway haha but I do enjoy pictures of horses in "kissing booths" that are just props. I.... uh.... kiss my minis on the nose often. I taught Miss May to kiss me back too... and I LOVE kissing Dominick on the nose, his is just so soft and...

    Mare/Calming supplements

It's only been a short time I've been trying it, but Leg Up Mare Pellets seem to be already helping my Little Miss Grouchy Pants. Not a huge change yet, but she's already acting nicer towards my two boys (the donk and QH).

Hey! It's me again! Life update for fun.

Hey all! I don't really know why I dropped off of this forum, I got back on today and forgot how much I loved it! Miss you guys and all the wonderful info and insight here. I might pop in more often again, I may not, who knows with life hehe. I did want to share some fun photos and updates...

    Driving Me Buggy 2019 Hours!!!

Little Miss fits in her harness again! We went for about an hour long drive yesterday, though most of that was stopping and standing still.

    Lump in Neck

Fewh, I've been away a while. Just wanted to let everyone know the vet still thought it was maybe an abscess or swelling of some sort. Was still advised to keep an eye on it and if it didn't leave we'd look deeper and possibly drain or remove it. It is nearly gone, just a tiny bump I have...

    Lump in Neck

Hey! Thanks for checking in. She's still fat and sassy and the lump has gone down a touch, but still there and still hard. We've just been watching it to see, and I'm thinking I'll be making an appointment in the next couple days to get it examined. And I have only seen one tick in my...

    Lump in Neck

Vet got back to me. He's thinking it's an abscess or swelling of some sort. We'll keep an eye on it for now. I did clip it and did find a scrape and small cut near it. We're not sure if that has anything to do with it, but is interesting.

    Lump in Neck

I sent my vet a message, so we'll see what he thinks. I'm going to clip her neck tonight there and look for anything weird. She hasn't had her shots yet this year, so I'm sure it's not that. :) All is still well so far. No changes in mood or reaction to touching and squeezing the lump.

    Lump in Neck

Oh I take no offence to that! I always am happy for feedback. I got lazy last year honestly with the horses and am seriously regretting it this year, I promised myself when I got her I wasn't going to let her get fat, and, well... you see. I haven't let her on pasture at all this year.... but...

    Lump in Neck

I know... she gained quite a bit this last fall before winter and it's been a struggle to get her weight down... :( it was way easier to get weight off my QH. Some of that is her mane, but it's definitely not good. That's interesting. Did that go away on it's own or did it need to be removed?

    Lump in Neck

Hmmmm... She actually hasn't had them done. I did have the vet check them out a couple weeks ago and he didn't think she needed them done just yet, said they felt good and thinks she has a good bite. Their hair really is amazing haha

    Lump in Neck

Yeah, even when I tried parting her hair I couldn't see it. Just could feel it. I did finally talk myself out of the strangles scare haha. But that is good to know about the placement of the bumps. Oooh she certainly could have poked herself. Maybe I'll wander tonight and see it anything...
