    Baby registry questions

My brother and sister-in-law gave me a kit that included: Tylenol for infants, Baby Oragel, Walmart brand baby gas medicine, baby shampoo, baby lotion and diapers. I used it ALL. I also found I needed a little tub for washing my son, which I used until he was about one.

    Dog breed question...

My Saint Bernard was pretty much the dog you described. I'm not sure if all Saints are like her. Good dogs.

    Are ya kiddin' me?? Grr....

I didn't see that particular ad of course, but I have seen and read similar situations. People can be so ignorant to the point of being unwittingly cruel or dangerous. Some local folks were trying to tell me it was okay that their teenage boys tried to ride their mini (35") because minis are...

    Put our Saint to sleep

Again thank you. I keep forgetting she's not here anymore. I keep looking to see if she's on the couch. I almost filled her food dish. I keep waiting for her to bug me to go outside. Last night, I tiptoed around the bedroom in the dark so I wouldn't step on her. Hard to get used to. Pets are...

    Put our Saint to sleep

First of all, I wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts and advice regarding my posting earlier this month. As you may recall my Saint Bernard had Eosinophilic Myositis which caused her face to swell up and jaw muscles to waste away. Let's just say it wasn't pretty. After...

    first mare up

Perhaps if we all close our eyes at the same time or turn away from the computer screen for about ten minutes, Lacey will get down to business. A watched pot...you know.

    Cousin's Goat had twins,

Goat gestation is 145-155 days- a little more than five months. And I hope you don't mind me saying, but they don't "foal" they "kid" or "freshen". A friend of mine breeds her goats between Halloween and Thanksgiving for warmer spring kids.

    first mare up

Everytime, I check on her she is standing so still that I wonder if the streaming video is working...then a cat runs by. It's working. Right now would be a good time to have the baby, Lacey, so I won't feel the need to stay up really late watching. I feel for you, Rebecca. My goats make me wait...

    Darrin Southwick on the news

I think if a dog kills someone's pet or livestock then the dog's owner becomes the proud owner of the deceased livestock and should pay the fair market value for their new dead critter. Miniature bulls are worth at least $1000. One of my neighbor's dogs killed the entire flock of my other...

    Eosinophilic Myositis

Eosinophilic myositis, hopefully spelled right, is an auto-immune disease in large breed dogs and King Cavalier spaniels in which the dog's body attacks its own jaw or mandibular muscles. We have been fighting this disease with my St. Bernard for 10 months and I am just not seeing any end in...

    Give me a break!!!

My step-daughter claims she's a sex addict- I think her mother needs to give her some rules and maybe put her on a leash.. or a chastity belt. As for high heels on young girls. Just wrong. They need a chance to let their bodies grow normally before they subject their feet and legs into an...

Talked to my horse-hates her name

I went to go look at an older black mini gelding and I asked the former owners what his name was. CoCo. As soon as they said it the gelding scowled, pinned his ears, and said "How humiliating!" I ended up buying him and changing his name to Goliath, which he thinks fits him better. In fact, he...

    Boxers and their gas...........Any Ideas???????

That reminds me of a James Herriot story about Cedric the boxer who lived with a socialite woman and would break wind at her fancy parties. She gave her dog to her gardener who adored him and just happened to have lost his sense of smell in a battle(WW2?). Funny story. I wish you luck and lots...
