Filly arrived yesterday evening- this is a 3/4 sister to the black and white blanketed colt I posted above. Same sire and dams are mother and daughter. This is it for me this year.

Last night about 9 my chestnut Appy mare foaled.... it's her first. She was bred to my fewspot stallion. She had a black bay filly with a frosty roany blanket and I can see spots under the baby fuzz too. This filly is a 3/4 sibling to the black and white colt born on St. Patty's Day.

Last night about 9, Delite foaled, an Appaloosa filly!! Both are doing great.

He is spoiled rotten now too.... still thinks I am his 'other mother'. He is definitely a pocket pet. I just love him to pieces and he was worth the several days with no sleep and all the other stuff.

So still waiting on Delite. Her bag is getting bigger by the hour, I swear. She is very uncomfortable. Didnt lay down at all last night or today. I find that usually when that happens, the next time they lay down, they mean it. LOL Here is Delite a couple of days ago...

Here he is this morning. He had a very rough start and it was pretty scary the first several days, but he is doing great now. Delite is due ANY time!

I agree, the genetics are the same, regardless of the size of the horse. If two Appies were bred, and the foal came out under 14 hands for some reason, does that mean then, that it's not an Appy for example?

Well, my first foal watch this year only lasted two days! Sonoita Im Miss Leading, a true black mare, was bred to my black fewspot stallion.... and had a lovely colt with a star, big blanket and spots on March 17th. Here he is!
