I agree! Every year her summer coat gets lighter or darker, or more dapples or less dapples. Sometimes she is more grey, and the next year it will be more brown. She is so confusing! I've been telling people that she is just her own unique color!

I have a mare like that with both her eyes. I think that it is just how her eyes clear themselves. I have tried wiping them away but get the same results that you get. Interested in what other people say though!

I was looking at pictures on google and the photos of other silver blacks (the lighter ones) look a lot like her in the summer. Do all silver blacks change color in the winter?

Thanks for the info everyone! I wasn't even planning on showing the resulting foal, although both parents have great conformation. I was planning on training him/her to drive along side mom and to ride (small children!!). Just for fun...I've never trained a mini to do either before. Actually...
