    Thank you..its hard to tell from my photos but her legs are totally silver no black peeking thru as with a normal bay I have had bay foals and black foals ...this is different which is why I posted...just wanted opinions

    her legs ARE shed out I know bays have that lighter color but hers are shed out completely and are silvery up to her hocks thats what threw me on her color..plus she has 4 dark bars on her front knees on the back and barring on her hocks as well so I know there is something else going on..here...

    How are your horses doing in this heat?

    Here in Texas it is also HOT HOT HOT 100 plus daily and so dry as we are in a horrid drought on top of the heat. I turn out my mares daily all have foals..did clip the hairy ones and am debating whether to clip the tiny one as he seems to be breathing heavier than the others and does not run...

    We just got a new mare yesterday and she has some spots the color of which I have only seen in the dog world... best described as blue merle...what is called in horses? the spots are not haloed (sp?) but a speckled merle color Here she is all 28,50 inches of her.

    he is not a bay...but a deep red..mom is a silver bay and dad is a bay...his tail is flaxen.....went to fill out the form and my choice is bay or sorrel...hhhmmm....what do you put?     100 plus heat

    I have 2 foals that were born in June that are still sporting a thicker coat.....they don't seem in any distress and gallivant around like demons...but was wondering if I should clip them or leave them be for natural protection from flies and such?

    I was wondering if anyone has used hay pellets to replace the grain so she has something to eat with everyone else...I HAVE TAKEN AWAY HER GRAIN TO HELP HER DRY UP..SHE GETS NICE COASTAL HAY BUT WAS WONDERING IF THE PELLETS WOULD WORK OR NOT? oops sorry caps was not yelling :o)
