    Princess, or a Yeti?

Thank you!! I love em fuzzy and snowy. Last night same thing happened - where's Princess? Soaking wet out in the snowstorm of course! Crazy horse. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed laughing at me as I chisled the snow off her and towel dried her before dinner.

    Princess, or a Yeti?

It just won't stop snowing up here! So I get to the barn.......... I see no horses, they are all inside huddled together in the stalls. Not even any footprints, they must have been avoiding it all day! Until........ Princess comes around the corner! I can't even tell what color she was, just...

    first driving lesson

It's definitely a bit different. First time I ever drove a horse was with a nice old cowboy who was teaching me on his calm old Morgan. This was years and years ago before I even started riding English.... He had a heck of a time teaching me that neck reining didn't work.

    New to driving

I'd suggest getting a really good book to start, so you have a solid foundation to follow, and don't have to teach yourself and your mini at the same time. Finding a local trainer in your area would help too. For now, begin just by getting trust and then control while you stand behind him...

    Halter class question

By "color" they mean white markings. So the "solid color" classes is anything other than pintos and appies. Not ... flashy versus less flashy. Lots of duns and silvers do well in the solid color class. In the pinto and appies, they look for about 50/50 white/color, the real loudly marked ones...

Lots of news with me and my babies...(long)

Thank you guys so much! I agree Mindy, they really can be some of the best. There is one that stays at the supply store in our shelter, and anyone that comes in always ends up becoming a lap for him to sit on. He's very good at it - first starts with the pets, then the belly rubs, then once you...

Lots of news with me and my babies...(long)

Hey everyone! I told you I'd come give a story on what's been going on with me, since we moved to Colorado in November. Was just waiting for the newest addition to come, and she did last Friday. Soooo we had outgrown our little house in the city with 4 stalls in the back yard. Dad was fed up...

    Speaking of dogs

I volunteer at the local humane society. So we have LOTS of jumpy dogs, wanting to go out for walks, etc. What we do is if they jump up, just walk into them (it's kinder than knee-ing them in the chest, but it does make them put 4 paws on the floor) and say the word off. Also never give them...

Merry Christmas from all of us!

Remember me?!?!?!? I know I went from LIVING on the forum to spontaneously dissapearing, i'm sure some newer members don't even know me lol. Well - short, sweet, and to the point: we've moved! Los Angeles wasn't working out for any of us, and somehow a month ago, we found ourselves in Colorado...

My dog is itchy like crazy

Poor baby. Definitely the food. Exactly what are you feeding him? And what breed is he? Some have more tendencies toward specific allergies. Natural is good but a lot of natural products still contain allergy causing ingredients. I am actually really interested in this topic, I am obsessed with...

    Time to vent vent vent!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! That is absolutely ridiculous!!!! Not only is it completely bogus, but I find it dangerous!! What if some of these people who didn't have prior knowledge like you do went on to breeding.... and thought that because of what this teacher said, breeding 2 frames was just fine...

    Pat Parelli "Horsenality" Profiles

I absolutely ADORE the parelli method. I have been to last year's Savvy Conference in Pagosa Springs, CO, and this year I went to the Reno Celebration. I have the level 1 pack, the success series, and the new online, liberty, freestyle, and finesse patterns. I also work with a lot of riding...

    Introducing to the bit

Horses do tend to prefer the taste of copper, but since it is so soft - as others have said - I have found that my preference is a bit that has just enough copper to taste like it, but not entirely made of it. I drive my mare (that I trained myself ) in a french link snaffle, and just the...

    chimera show on now

OH I've seen it twice. It's fascinating!! Actually I remember I watched it, then about 2 weeks later on an episode of House a kid was chimeric ... I actually beat House to the diagnosis! Lol.
