I buy compressed Standlee hay and it is top quality. Marsha, I get Standlee compressed alfalfa from TSC. Red Earth has the Standlee Timothy. It's top of the line hay. As fine and green as alfalfa.

I, too, think advertising as 'AMHA eligible' is false advertising when the sire, dam or both have revoked papers for not going perm, sire or dam is not DNA'd and the dam is not in the current owners name. If the owner of the dam is not a current AMHA member and willing to bring all paperwork up...

I don't think so. Highly unlikely that she got in foal as a weanling even on the off chance she was bred. Not impossible, but very unlikely. I do agree with the others that a high protein diet at her age will likely improve her condition dramatically.

I just got 3 new foal registrations back. From the time I mailed them until the time I got them back, it was 8 days. And AMHA really stepped up too. From the time I mailed the applications to the time I got the papers back, it was only 7 days!

I agree with Parmela. Education is the key and NO horse is immune to the possibility of LWO, even solid horses. Appaloosas too! I think it should be mandatory that every breeding stallion is tested. If a stallion tests positive, then all mares to be bred to him must be tested. I love frame...
