Congrats on your WONDERFUL Mother's Day surprise! So happy for you, and what a doll baby! I will always have a soft spot for the appy's!

We had a mare this year that stayed at 7.6, even three hours before foaling. She could have dropped after that, but that was the last time we checked her. When we went in to monitor her foaling, she stood up after giving birth and she had wax on her teats. Things can happen very fast!

I had to use an enema on two of our foals. Granted, they weren't thrilled but it did the trick! I think the other foal heard the news about the pending enema and got the job done by herself Glad your little one is doing well!

Here are our babies so far-first is Velvet born 4/19, 8 inch cannons and jet black. Next is Lacey born 4/20, 7 inch cannons and a pretty buckskin. Then we have Jana, born two weeks early on 5/5 with 8 inch cannon bones and also black. All girls!

Ok, I finally got some pics of our new filly, Jana. Seeing her out in the sun makes me 99% sure that she's black after all. She is so healthy and strong! Since it's a nice day she gets to be outside today and she's loving the sunshine. Here she is!!!

If I were to guess, based off my years of breeding the full sized appies, I would say you have a good chance of getting spots or roaning, maybe even both. You mare looks to have roaned out and exposed spots, so he may do the same thing!

WONDERFUL news!!! So interesting too...our mare Lady gave birth last night, had one foot folded back and was born with bloodshot eyes as well. Spooky! Your little girl is just a lovely baby. Good job!!!!
