    How to use???

I don't have photos, but they are pretty simple to use . You just buckle them to the saddle where the shaft loops hang down from and put the thimbles over the ends of the shafts . That way when the horse stops, the thimbles pull on the saddle to stop the cart.

Where Do You Get Your Boots and Blankets?

As far as blankets go, I love love love Radon ( www.radoninc.com) they are such good quality and they are all custom colors and sizing. I bought a used Radon blanket once and now order them exclusively.

Yeah I had to "return" a Hunter champion all-star for a yearling I had once who had never been in the class.... Congrats!

    When to introduce the bit?

First, dental check. Then, put a simple open bridle on when lunging on a line, round penning, or even just grooming. I like to put small bits of "Fruit Roll Ups" (dried flattened fruit leather) on the bit instead of something sticky and liquid like molasses or honey.

    Show halter Q

Show halters are evening gowns, not speedos

    Nationals VS. Worlds

It depends on your horse and what classes you show in, and how competitive you want to be. Some horses are more competitive in one registry or another. Others it doesn't matter. It can be easier to qualify for Nationals. It can be less expensive at Nationals but distance could be a cost...

7 month old kicking when its feed time

While I don't "mess with" my horses unnecessarily while they are eating... If I tell them to back off, they better do it or I will take whatever means necessary to get them to back off. Your horse sees a weakness in you and is taking advantage of it. You are on the right track.

My new wagon (runabout?) would like critiques please

I'm sorry it didn't meet your expectations. Have someone pull you around in it and over uneven ground and in tight circles pretty fast to test drive it. It does look a bit unsafe to me.

    Clipping for warm weather?

He will shed out naturally on his own and then you won't have to bother with blankets. Shedding out naturally is ultimately healthiest for horses. You can brush as often as you can when he starts to shed to help the process and he will learn to love it.

Opinions on this cart? (Potential purchase)

It sounds like it's made for a 45" Shetland pony... But id buy it if it's a good deal and resell it to someone with a 12 hand pony. I wouldn't mess with a wrong-size cart.

Is any one else really tired of this weather?

Here in southern CA it's been in the 80s and maybe 60 overnight. But we have had no rain and it's like a warm drought here. Will mean higher hay prices I'm sure... But I can't complain. You're welcome to fly out here to warm up and see Disneyland though!

    book recommendations about training mini's

Whatever your vet feels comfortable gelding at is the best age, but I have gelded at one month of age and feel that the younger horses have a quicker recovery time.

    How long to wrap/sweat necks?

I've never used a sweat but usually the wraps are on throughout the entire conditioning and show season period.

    Mane Thinning

While you could try pulling it, most people opt for a slightly longer bridle path and then running the clippers to under cut (or over sometimes). It doesn't look great growing out, but since most minis are clipped before shows it's quick and easy to maintain.

Supplements & Shampoos to Enhance Color

Minis, being basically small ponies, usually grow proportionally more coat to stay warm. So they (a few have fine-coat genetics but not most) never get that summer-coat-so-tight look. Plus most people don't show only may/June/July and you clip for the early shows and clip for shows towards...

    Show Fitting a Broodmare

Like people, it depends on their conformation and how long the muscles and skin have been stretched. Watching her topline will be most indicative of progress. I don't put a lot of stock in sweats... Diet and exercise.

Supplements & Shampoos to Enhance Color

Unfortunately if you clip (and lots of people clip close) you will lose color as most is in the shaft. People who show color classes don't always show in halter, where clipping means a bit more than performance classes.

Supplements & Shampoos to Enhance Color

Since minis are body clipped so often, I don't think color enhancing is as big a deal in this breed. A good diet does a lot more good than a single supplement in my opinion. Supplements, even black oil sunflower seeds, can be a waste of money in an otherwise balanced diet.

    Feeding

Many of us have spent decades and dollars on this wonderful breed of horse.... So as invested as we are, we are looking to keep the breed moving forward and offer advice and critiques to others. We do it because we care about the breed, regardless of hard feelings occasionally. To disregard...
