Thank you for the tip. I’ll look into it!

Although I understand the muzzle prevents them from eating as much as they would without it.

    I’m sure he wasn’t! 😂

No luck so far. That one was too long for mine, too. If push comes to shove, I may have a seamstress sew it up a little on each side. I discussed grazing and my mini extensively with my vet. She studied the “grass” in the pasture and said it was mostly weed and therefore should be okay. I’m to...

Intro from me and Miss Faye

Welcome! I’ve been a member for maybe a whole week now! This is a very supportive and helpful forum. You’ll enjoy the people - and minis - here! Yours is adorable! I don’t think you mentioned how long you’ve had her. Give her time and she’ll settle in. Minis are the best pets, companions, friends.

Lost our mini after laminitis flare up.

Bluebell2 said it so well and succinctly. It’s so hard to lose a family member and that’s what they are! Remember the good times and how happy you made him while he was with you. I’m so sorry.

    Spring grazing advice

I can’t seem to find a grazing muzzle that fits her! They are all too long and I’ve adjusted to the best of my ability. So happy to hear they get used to them. I’ll keep searching although it’s hard to fit her in anything.

I thought about creating a dry lot, but then I was warned about sand colic. Our soil is VERY sandy here. I swear y'all, if it's not one thing it's another! I like the idea of giving her some prunings. It would give her something new to explore. Thank you!

Ha! I like the "Jenny Craig Paddock" name. I searched Founderguard and it appears it's only available in your region of the world. Laminaze might be our equivalent. Does anyone in the States use that product? Ryan, that was for the group as a whole. :) Thank you for your advice.

    Spring grazing advice

It helps tremendously. Thank you and thank you for the warm welcome :) It seldom snows in SC and she’s been freely grazing all winter. I’ll take your suggestion and watch her weight carefully. She’s never foundered to my knowledge and the farrier feels the same. My vet also suggested keeping...

    Spring grazing advice

This seem to be a wonderful group! I’ve read a lot of threads and find all to be very supportive. I’m a first time mini owner and am enthralled with minis now. My Bubbles is a 4yo 32” mare. Her weight seems fine but I’m getting widely different advice on what to do with her in the spring and...
