    It's Friday, and I'm here!

Hi, I am here a bit early because I am about to go and start a cleaning project and once started, I can't stop or I will never start again. I did not have a great week. Winter is really hard for me and being in the house with hubby 24/7 makes me even crazier. I did manage to lose a tiny bit...

Bad new habit!!!! Pawing at her feed dish

We use this type of feeder in most of our stalls. Since we don't actually have a board to hook it over, we put a piece of wood in the hook--making the wood a bit longer than the pan--and use heavy screws to screw it to the walls of the stall. If, like some of mine do, they take their noses and...

Question on gelding an older stallion

We had ours done when he was 12. He did great. He did have a little bit of swelling, but we let him in a pen next to the pasture where the mares were and he moved enough to get it down. He adapted well and was out with the mares and geldings about 4 or 5 weeks after gelding. At first, he...

    Cryptorchid

Most of ours have been down by their actual 2nd birthday, but some have taken longer. We had one that never did really show up so when he was actually 4, we scheduled the surgery. When he was sedated, the second one dropped completely, thereby allowing a regular gelding. We had a great vet...

Round Bales...How long do they last?

our bales are approx. 1000lbs of grass hay. We put it in a round bale holder and it is outside. We have 17 mini mares--more than half are near pony size--and 3 adult llamas. We also feed grain to them once a day. They are on it 24/7 right now and that bale lasts about 10 days.

    Do you have dieting foes?

I just put a little in and taste it and then add a little. I don't like to make a big batch because I am afraid it will go bad before I use it, so I only make about 1/2 cup or a bit less at a time.

    It's Friday, and I'm here!

I also have a lot of small plastic containers with lids (1/4 cp, 1/2 cp,ect) and if I do buy some of my favorite things like m&m's or jelly belly jelly beans, I will measure the whole package into the little containers and then put them in the freeze compartment of the fridge in the back room...

    It's Friday, and I'm here!

one of my tricks is to keep a list of foods that I have eaten in a spiral notebook. I put the detailed name of the food (not just soup, but progresso vegetable classics hearty tomato) I put the amount I ate and the point cost for that amount. That way, I don't have to look things up all the...

    Do you have dieting foes?

Forgot to say "Good for you--being determined not to keep the junk in the house when she left." That was a MAJOR win.

    Do you have dieting foes?

I think that I would have to ask her if she loved me enough to see me healthy. Is she overweight also? If so, she may be trying to justify her problems by making them yours. One thing I would do the next time she came over would be to have things like vegies and/or fruit and low cal dip. A...

    Trying this again...

But now is the start of a new day. this isn't about being perfect, this is about being persistent. You can start again every day if need be. No matter how many times we make mistakes, we are way ahead of the people that are not even trying. You will get there--just NEVER give up.

    It's Friday, and I'm here!

It is like almost any other program to get healthy. It is about healthy changes that you will live with for the rest of your life. It really doesn't matter if you count calories, count points, eat only certain foods or weigh every bite, when you reach your goal, you need to be willing to...

    Gelding - Aftercare

We have had many boys gelded. We have never hosed any of them. The vet usually comes here late in the afternoon so we keep them in the stall most of the next day--taking them out for a 5 min walk a couple of times that day--the second day, we will usually let them out with a friend that they...

    Questions About Clipping?

I love my andis agc two speed clippers. If you have several sets of #10 blades, you can change them often--feel them on your hand--if they are really warm on your hand, you want to change them. When I remove the blades, I blow as much hair off by mouth and put them into a dish of blade wash or...

    It's Friday, and I'm here!

hi everyone, I am just joining you and it is Sunday so I will try to remember to be back here on Friday. My goal until then is to keep track of my points (I am using the weight watchers system) an try to get at least 15 min a day of walking. I have about 135 lbs to lose, but working on the...

Not your average weight loss thread - Begins Monday, January 28th '13. *Questionnaire Page 4

I just found these forums and was wondering if it was too late to answer the 50 questions and start being accountable. It is high time I got healthier because my knees and back are beginning to tell me that I will be in a wheel chair in less then 10 years if I don't do something now. Thanks

When comments shouldn't hurt, but they do

I have a similar problem, Sara. Dave has seen me try to lose weight most of the 37 years we have been married. Now, I just don't say much unless he asks me. Then I will keep it simple with "Just trying not to eat so much cause it isn't really good for me". He has come to learn that I am not...

    Trying this again...

I like my facebook group because it has lots of ideas, but think I will like it here because having fewer people will make it easier to get more involved with individuals and therefore maybe I will be more accountable and stick to the plan a bit closer. My weigh in is on Thursday morning. I...

    Trying this again...

When I stick to it, and eat about 1200 - 1500 calories besides and work on getting my "good" fats. I do have a lot to lose though. I need to lose nearly 140 lbs to be close to my ideal weight so it does come off a bit easier. I understand that good fats will actually eat the bad fat from your...
