Keeping my mini horse in shape.

I drove myself crazy last year when I got my minis Rocky and Cooper. Rocky looks like he is about Rosie's size. He is 34" tall about 8-9 yrs. and is very similar in stature to your Rosie. When I tried to calculate his weight, I also came up with 2 different figures, again, very similar weights...

    Rosie's Training Journal

Hi from Connecticut. I think you're little Rosie is adorable. If it's not too much trouble, I also would love to see your progress with Rosie by way of a journal or just a post here and there. I am trying to work with my 2 boys that I have had for a little over a year now and have looked to...

    Sweet horse

My 2 boys aren't nice to me, so they sure aren't going to be nice to other critters!!

    Our new pregnent mini

I have been keeping up with the postings on this thread hoping that Blossom had an easy time giving birth. I am happy to see that it finally happened! Good luck to Blossom, the new baby and you. Colt or Filly?

You have an adorable little mini. Thank you for starting a Mini Equine Rescue and good luck with it in the future. I got both of my minis from a local rescue so I am really thankful for dedicated people like you.

    Fighting or playing?

Example of my boys “playing.” My girls, the donkeys, never know what to do😳. This was in September. Now that there is snow on the ground, they do it even more. Like I said, I no longer worry that they dislike each other, they just play hard!

    How's the Weather ?

You won't hear me complain about snow or winter, but it doesn't typically get as cold here as it does in Minnesota or other parts of the country (world), if it did, I definitely would not like it so much! Right now, day temps are in the 20's and mid 30's, nights teens and 20's, so not bad...

    Fighting or playing?

I would also vote for just playing. FYI, I rescued 2 recently gelded minis 14 months ago, Rocky 7 and Cooper 5. They had never been together before I purchased them and I had never had young geldings before. They immediately started chasing each other, biting at each other, jumping on each...

    2022 Christmas trees

3 cat household, so no more live trees with antique ornaments😬. I have to say this is so much easier, but no balsam fir smell which is a bummer!

    How's the Weather ?

Winter has started in NW Connecticut! The snow is so pretty when it first falls, but my critters will dirty it up in no time😜

    How's the Weather ?

Hi Silver City, Bees keep the inside of the hive at 95 degrees (F) winter, spring, summer and fall. They do this, to keep their brood (babies) warm. If it's colder than 95, then they flap their little wings to produce heat to warm the hive and if it's warmer than 95, they flap their wings to...

    Color matters

My boys are rescues that I "adopted" (for a crazy fee), from a horse rescue foundation in NY. I wasn't thinking about color or confirmation, I just wanted to give a couple of minis a good home. I know nothing about their histories or what their capabilities may be, but we're having fun...

    Crafting in 2022

You folks are all so talented. Ribbon wreath, great idea. The sewing project, adorable! Even if I could design and sew those outfits, I doubt any of my animals (horses or donkeys) would allow me to put them on them. I'm jealous.

    Some photos

I agree, cool markings on those ears. I’ve added a photo of my donks here, Willow and Charlotte. I love it when they drink from the water trough, because Willow always sticks her tongue out to dry!

    Foaling camera help

Most outdoor cameras have Bluetooth in addition to Wifi, but if you rely on the Bluetooth only, you do have to be relatively close to the camera to watch it on your tablet and you won't be able to see your animals when away from the area, as noted by the above post. I think it sounds like if...

    Foaling camera help

You may be right that your flip phone may not be able to connect with a camera so that you can watch your mini. I'm thinking that your tablet may have bluetooth, so that would be the way to go. I've never heard of a camera subscription that you have to pay for monthly. I bought my cameras...

    Foaling camera help

I forgot to add that if you shop on Amazon, there is a well rated outdoor security camera by a company named Blink, I am not suggesting that you should purchase this camera, as I have no experience with it, however, if I had no wifi, I would be looking at this Brand or something else like it...

    Foaling camera help

If you get a camera that has bluetooth and your phone is bluetooth capable you don't need wifi. They will connect to each other via bluetooth. You just have to be mindful of the distance between the camera and your smartphone. What ever camera you're interested in, will have the bluetooth...
