    DIY mini stalls

I did some temporary foaling stalls with the mini panels and zip tied plywood to them. I did others with plastic sign board zip tied to them these worked better they were easy to clean and they couldn't chew them the sign board was comparable price wise to the plywood.

    Stall kept or run-in shelters?

I have a combination, the stallions have individual stalls with attached turn outs with attached 1/4 acre pastures. My gelding has a stall with attached turn out. The mares currently have a section of the indoor arena that they can come into in bad weather with an attached turn out and...

    Good Ideas ----RETURNS

wow amysue you are my kinda person! Great ideas! Clarification on the TYVEC I put it directly on the ground in the indoor arena. However if you have a low spot that collects water under your hay you need to get it up with pallets and then the TYVEC on top of the pallets. Also we had the...

    Good Ideas ----RETURNS

BSHARP spot on. TYVEC is available at home improvement stores, it comes on a roll. Best bet is to get a hold of a contractor to bring home his scraps its free that way. Should last awhile it's some type of synthetic material.

The Heat, never in my life.......

Not sure if this would help anybody but when I had my 36 year old Q.H. mare and it got in the 90's I put the hole barn on a mister. Cheaply. You buy drip irrigation tube and a timer 30.00. I misted them in their stalls every hour for 15 minutes. The whole system was less than 50 bucks.

    Electric fencing question.

If this fence needs to last. I would highly reccommend Premier it is a braided rope, I've had five strands, fencing off 8 acres, up for over 13 years, and I have yet to replace ANYTHING. The beautiful thing about this fence is it is installed with springs. I've had LARGE trees fall on the...

Options to Divide Large Horse Stalls for Minis

I built my barn so I can use a 12 x 12 for one large or 2 mini. I just sink a 4 x 4 post in the middle of the door (the doors are in the middle of the wall) and put the track to divide the stall on it.
