    "Max" (5/29/2009-2/11/2011)

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's never easy to lose one, but it's that much more tough to lose such a special one. I'm so sorry you have to deal with what I consider to be the hardest part of owning a horse. It's not the bills or the work that is the hardest part. It's letting one go who...

What's the one colour you wouldn't want in your breeding program?

A great horse is never a bad color, however, you will never see a double dilute in my barn. And, I am also not a fan of bays. Even when I was in full szed horses, I never cared for bays. ~Jen~

    Toys

Cones! My Mini's love their cones. They occupy themselves for hours in the pasture with cones. They each have a small cone in their stalls as well. I've seen them play with them in their stalls, but they really love the standard size cones in the pasture. They also love balls to play with. They...

    Double K question

Thank You!! Sounds easy enough. I will give it a try. Worst that happens is I screw up and send them in to be fixed. LOL. Thanks again Jen

    Double K question

Does anyone on here change the lever, etc in their Double K clippers on their own without sending them away? Is it difficult? I always send my clippers away to be checked every fall. I didn't this past year, and was getting ready to send them now. However, it costs me almost $200 everytime and...

    Stalling Miniatures

Each of our horses have their own stalls. Not only do they like having their own space, but like someone stated above, it keeps your numbers in check. When my stalls are full, I have no room for more! We have 7 stalls. Right now, we only have 6 horses, so I turned stall #7 into a stall to put...

    Help!

We have treated 2 for Lyme Disease. Both were out on dry lots, both brushed daily, they are sprayed with bug spray that is suppose to be good for ticks too, we are not in a "hot spot" for ticks and I have never plucked a tick off either. But, they both tested positive. Both had temps, were...

    Help!

A temp, being lethargic, personality change, and being stiff all point to Lyme Disease.

    okay we need blankets

We have 6 horses in the barn. The 2 Over horses(both about 36") both wear a size 48 blanket. The 2 taller Under horses both wear a 46(one is 33.75" and the other is 34ish). And the 2 other Under horses(both 32" horses) both wear a 44. The Tough One blankets I have had ok luck with. My Favorites...

    SECRET SANTA GIFT THREAD

My secret Santa gift arrived from Canada. There was no forum name listed, but THANK YOU Nicki Conner, I was lucky enough to get some nice candles, along with some really yummy chocolate. My Mini LOVES her new Likit and holder. It was the perfect color for the barn princess I also got a travel...

    Bad Weather

I do things pretty much the same as Taylor. My horses are out by 7:30/8AM and are brought in about 4ish. If it's heavy snow or rain or bitter cold temps with wind, they are in. They get a few months off after show season where they are just turned out. But, when they are showing and getting...

    Multi-Vitamin supplements

Thanks for all the replies. I think I am going to give Platinum Performance a try. I visited a few big horse boards as well and they rave about the stuff. Thanks for all the replies ~Jen~

    Multi-Vitamin supplements

I should mention that she is really picky. I tried Dr. Benson's last year with her. She wouldn't touch it. In fact, because of the stomach turning fish smell, she wouldn't eat out of her normal food dish for a good week. LOL.

    Multi-Vitamin supplements

What does everyone use for a Multi-Vitamin supplement for their Mini's? I've used Accel in the past and had the problem that my mare sort of lost her marbles on it. Took her off and she was back to normal. Just curious as to what everyone else uses. I have a mare who is not a big grain eater, so...

    Aloe Vera Juice

I know alot of the guys at the racetrack use it and swear by it for the horses stomachs. I've talked to several who have found it more effective then the Stomach supplements that are much more expensive. But, if you read most ingredient lists on Ulcer supplements, almost all of them contain Aloe...

    AMHR qualification question

LOL!!! How about if I take the long way to get to the shows across the street instead of the direct route across? That's got to add 2 miles on. LOL. Jen
