I love geldings as well and think he'll make an awesome one! I do plan on driving him, he was trained and was pulling a cart but was very green broke and hasn't driven in years, so we'll start from scratch this summmer. I too think he'd make a striking driving horse!

So it all started a few months or so ago, I regularily (like at least a few times every week since about 2005)check one of my mini-friend's/local breeder's website to just check out her horses and see what new horses/foals she has, etc. Well I always check out all her pages on her website...

I have driven single before, not with these particular horses but I have done it. I have access to a single cart and can drive them single until I get all the team equipment. For now, and probably for a while I'll be driving just for fun, but wouldn't mind having something nice enough to drive...

Thanks for all the replies guys! Since Ruckus already has hunter green and Spirit has the blues I was going to try and stay away from those colors. All of Spirit's stuff is already blue. Even though I totally agree that blue on these boys would compliment their eyes. The colors I choose also...

I've got 4 miniature horses, all geldings. Spirit, Ruckus, Kowboy and Dude. All my horses are color coded, each one has "their" color, so all their tack (halters, leads, blankets, slinkies, etc)are that one color. Spirit has royal blue, and Ruckus has hunter green. I just need colors for Kowboy...

I used to own a mare that had foundered in the past (with her previous owners) and was bred and had a foal. Never had any problems again whatsoever. Of course I would definately consult your vet/farrier before you decide to breed her.

I do believe I've heard that Ivermectin is toxic to herding breeds, possibly other breeds too, so you may want to look into that as well
