Video of our little Amish driver

Very cool! They are quite snazzy looking with the choice of colors and fancier seats. I wonder if I could show in it at fairs to start with? Snazzier than a plain black one... I was thinking of getting him a EE by this company http://www.ctmproducts.com/HorseCarts/HorseCarts.htm. Their car is...

Tears and prayers for you! How horrible! God Bless You.

Third day in the cart for Misty.......

What a beautiful boy and a fun story! I like the details of your "wild" dogs! I so appreciate how this forum unites us mini-lovers, even though we are so far apart! Merry Christmas, our British friend!

Video of our little Amish driver

He's adorable!! I'm sorry you feel you have to apologize for "looking too big for him"- I think just about anyone looks too big for a 29" horse! They're tiny and that's all there is to it. He doesn't look like he's struggling to pull either one of you so no negative comments here. I do feel...

Video of our little Amish driver

Loads of great advice from all of you! Myrna, when you say the breeching is very loose, do you mean the breeching itself on his behind, or the strap that is connecting it to the cart? I wondered what to do with the excess reins...His mouth is quite light for having been driven by children. I...

Video of our little Amish driver

The harness looks fairly well-adjusted from what I can see of it on a dark horse in winter woolies. Breastcollar and breeching height in particular look fine and yay for you for using breeching in the first place. The shafts are a little far forward in the second standing photo but fine in...

Video of our little Amish driver

Thank you! We had his mouth checked right away and everything is fine. Any harnessing advice would be so welcomed! I know this harness is a bit big. The shafts keep slipping forward on him. I think I need ones 4-6 inches shorter. My friend/trainer helped me hitch him a week ago, but with my old...

Video of our little Amish driver

Here are some pictures and video of our new little (29.5 inch) stallion, Fancy Pants. He is coming along very well, after his "I don't want to move, cuz we don't speak the same language" episodes! He doesn't really know different speeds of the trot, and opens his mouth quite a bit. The harness...

More cart questions from the newby!

Thank you for the color/class clarification! I'm not sure at this point which division he will go in. Being so tiny and not having the leg length of other "under" horses, perhaps country pleasure would be the place to start. Then, I could wear a cool hat! LOL!

What a beautiful stallion! He looks so elegant hitched to your cart! I really like your color combinations! The natural wood does look great with him! Thank you so much for sharing him!

Great! I would love to go the shiney painted route! I probably would not be able to bribe my daughters to drive in the ring! Showing Fancy will just have to be my prize for losing weight!

Silver stripes sound pretty and would look nice with his grey/blue/black coloring! Are you speaking of stripes on the cart, shafts or both? I will have to put on big sign on my back when showing--"-this rig coordinated by LB Mini Driving Forum! "

Oh, my! Did you have pin-stripes put on top of the stain? Or does that make it harder to maintain? If we did go with pin-stripping, what color would be pretty with a blue roan? Thanks!

More cart questions from the newby!

Thanks for the good info! What if I get a cart that is stained black? Would that look fancy, but be easier to touch up? I am most likely getting a cart from Silver Penny. Am I allowed to say that? Very similar to other carts, but hundreds of dollars less expensive!

More cart questions from the newby!

Me again! I think I am going to need to get a separate harness for my 29 inch driver. Thankfully, we live close to a Mennonite harness maker, who is reasonable and very good. I have an A size harness (betathane, with some blue patent leather...rather wild, by some standards!) , but it is on the...

    Opinion on two carts, please,

Thank you so much! So much wonderful advice! With the double the weight of the horse rule, I think a) I am definitely starting TOPS (taking off pounds sensibly) in January b) maybe I should ride behind him in a little kids, under 5 lbs, plastic sled, wearing goggles and being properly turned...

CRITIQUES NEEDED -- additional photo added, post #21

Those shoes/flippers are hilarious! Wow, and I thought the big question regarding proper turn-out was "is my hat too big"? My quietest driver is a pregnant mare. She wonders if you can attach a kiddie side/car/boat?

    Opinion on two carts, please,

I am looking for a show cart for my 29.5 inch, short bodied fellow. (The Amish trained one, who won't move forward--he's doing fine now! LOL!) I haven't shown in driving yet. Will start this coming year. Some fairs, some breed shows, maybe some ADS. Which type of cart would be best? . This is...

Wow! That is so cool! Maybe you two could have a weekly rescue TV series! It could be big, really big!

    Need your opinion

I don't think you sound rude at all. I think it is weird that you have asked 3 times and they won't give you an answer. Is she nearby, that you could go see her? I think your point about her condition is very valid. She could be really skinny, or lame, or have some other problem, that the...
