Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

For some crazy reason I cannot copy and paste my cam link, but if you go to www.marewatchers.com, click on the public cams tab, then find Huybers Utopia, you'll get it. If someone else could paste the link for me that would be great. The cams will be on at night only until they get very close.

Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

Well almost all the snow is gone. We've had several beautiful warm days and the mares udders are reflecting it. Ladybug and her two daughters Penny and Fly are starting nice udders. And Carmel is just beginning hers. Two mares have easily expressable yellow, slightly sticky milk. So we are...

    Baby Bump??

It's very hard to know from pictures. Here are two of my mares that are just 9 months along. One you would never know and one is obvious. Both have had foals before. Best thing to do is put your hand just in front of the udder during mealtime and you'll feel baby kicking if your patient...

Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

Here are the promised pictures. The pinto udder is Penny's. she's a maiden and as of last week just had nipples and a flab of skin holding them. So I guess she's going to make a nice big udder before she foals. Good girl Penny, she's first due at day 269 today. Sorry for the gross...

Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

Eclipse did fine with the abortion. She turned around and looked at the foal and walked away. I think she has aborted before by the way she reacted. She never missed a beat. Was eating, pooping and peeing like normal right away. Never had a infection or was off in any way. Thank goodness...

Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

Hey guys, very sad day today. I was watching the mares sleeping in the snow and sunshine when I saw Eclipse down and rolling. This is so against her usual behavior that I just knew something was wrong. Went out to the paddock and found her drenched in sweat and contracting while standing...

    Normal birth after breech birth?

How far along would she be? Her vulva does look quite loose, but that can happen if you catch them when they are relaxing.

How well do the weefoal tests work?

I would never waste my money on the weefoal 38's as I've had only 50% success with them. You might as well toss a coin, it would be as accurate. But the weefoal 120, which tests for a different hormone than the 38 day test is awesome. I've only every had 100% success with them. and if you...

Huybers Utopia , I'm gonna need help in June!!!

Hey everyone. The girls are now between 7 and 8 months along. All are confirmed and all the babies are rolling and bopping around at mealtimes. Some look a little pregnant and some don't look it at all , but they all are. So here are their pics today. Fly(silver bay): This will be her...

    Vet wrong about ultrasound

My mare was ~48 days pregnant, vet did a external ultrasound and then did an internal ultrasound with a paddle. He said her bladder was very full so he couldn't be certain, but he was pretty sure she was not pregnant. She was pregnant. The weefoal test at day 120 confirmed this and baby was...

    Kate ~ Testing READY!!

I watched her for a bit last night Holly, but she was just standing and eating. Where is the chat option on the cam page? Is it gone, I liked being able to talk to people while we watch.

    Older maybe pregnant minis?

I have a fair number of broodmares of that age. If they were exposed and are capable of getting pregnant they likely are. I'd get some weefoal 120's and find out for sure. Of course if they are far enough along, you will feel the babies kicking at suppertime or breakfast when they are eating...

    Introducing Chantilly Lace aka "Tilly"

Never had a false negative in the 120 day test when I've waited past 120 days that is. I hope she is pregnant, you should be able to feel baby kick by now for certain. Put your hand just in front of her udder at mealtime. You will feel a kick right into your hand or maybe a series of kicks...

Friendly-ing up a not so friendly horse

I have one I've had for two years now. She acts like I might kill her at any moment but if I get a halter on her and pat her she seems to like it. She's a funny one. I'll just keep at her until she realizes I haven't killed anyone yet.

    Still not sure

Keep us posted I'm thinking that if you read that test above like it was done right, it seems to be a negative result as there are two line either way. Very interested to see what the second test says.

    Still not sure

Wish I had seen this before, it happens quite often. If you just take a sewing needle and poke at the sample well at tiny bit it gives the fluid a place to start and then the pee flows properly. I do it all the time if the liquid wont flow. Hope they are sending you a new one but remember...
