Ok, this basically describes the breeching I have for her. I can get it to sit in the correct position, but where the hipstrap attaches too far back along the breeching, making it look odd. I haven't quite figured out why it is like that as I bought her harness brand new and the rest fits her...

That makes sense. I guess when I think of stock type I picture a Quarter Horse and pleasure type I think of Arabs and Morgans. But I understand where everyone is coming from now. What if the rules defined the different types in detail? Or would you still run into the same problem?

But since there aren't any large horses at mini shows, wouldn't it work for the minis? Sorry for sounding naive, like I said before, I'm new to the whole breed show thing.

Fun! That's what I did with lulu last year! (I even use the same sled, lol!) How did you attach the sled to the harness? I ended up with using lead ropes, but they didn't work the best, so I'm looking at redesigning.

That makes sense. I have a knowledgeable neighbor who has been helping me hitch Lulu, so I won't be trying anything alone anytime soon. I have had people fit her harness, but they didn't fit the breeching, which concerned me as everything around me has hills. Thank you for explaining that!

Yeah, really! There are so many minis at the local rescue that would be adopted out almost instantly if the rescue could afford to get them hardshipped into AMHA.

Is the hardshipping closing in 2012? I would love to get Lulu registered, but I do not have the money to do so. I personally wish they could lower the prices on hardshipping since I know several rescue horses that could easily be hardshipped in. But there is probably no changing that.
