    Geldings

I only have two mini horses....and they are both geldings! You can't stop people from giving advice to others.... but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who want a nice pet, or driving prospect, and don't want to buy the horse with breeding in mind. I don't want another mini right...

Has anyone made this hay feeder for their minis?

Have you made this hay feeder, or modified the plans, for use for your minis? http://www.premier1supplies.com/img/instruction/127.pdf I'd like to try. Double-sided...I have 2 mini horses and 3 mini donkeys. Or have you made something similar you can share photos of? We're looking to make an...

    Separation Issues

That's why I bred our Kochia last year....decided we needed a 3rd donkey so I could drive Gracey without Kochia killing herself. She had other buddies, but they weren't good enough. I'm hoping it will work..... Angie

    new barn plans

It's a nice way to combine space, but I know a few people who have stalls/indoor all in one and their biggest complaint is the dust. You really have to make sure you have great ventilation for something like that I guess! But I doubt the minis would bring up as much dust as the bigger ones...

We took one of our minis trick or treating again this year!

I will include a link to see pics of his "costume". Last year we took one of our minis, Magic, and his cart trick or treating with my son. Was so much fun! My son (who's not so into the animals) got to run from house to house, and I got to sit in the cart and have a ton of fun myself! We had...

Putting up a tail for winter

Both of my geldings have nice, long tails. My older gelding's tail is nice and thick...my younger one has quite a thin tail, but drags the ground. They get little ice/snow balls in them in the wintertime, and last year I just kept their tails braided...undoing the braid once a week or two, and...

Do you ever blanket your babies?

Thanks for your input! Was hoping others would chime in as well! Helpful you were in Michigan and know what our winters can be like! Angie

Do you ever blanket your babies?

I live in WI...and had a baby born September 1st. Of course she's fuzzy wuzzy.... but I'm wondering if I should get her a blanket for those cool mornings, and for winter especially, or will she be fine on her own? Her mom has a blanket, because last winter we were pretty cold and had record...

    Road driving question

    Sorry, here's what I read! http://www.cdc.gov/nasd/docs/d001501-d0016...33/d001533.html

    Road driving question

I'm finding them by doing a search for them, but I'm assuming they are pretty much a standard size. Based on what I read, I don't think reflectors and flags replace the sign though, sounds like it's actually the law. I have reflectors on my cart as well...little stick on reflectors. Only...

    Road driving question

Am I supposed to have one of those "slow moving vehicle" triangles on the back of my cart when I drive along a road? If so..... do they make smaller ones, not the huge ones you see on hay wagons and things.... and how do you attach them? Angie

    stall hay feeders

Thank you for the suggestions! I liked the hanging feeder...I saw one in a catalog, but it was like $80! I'll definitely look around! As far as the homemade feeders...those are quite interesting! I like those! I'm going to look further at those photos! Thank you! Angie

    stall hay feeders

Our mini donkey foal is urinating all over mom's hay....no matter where in teh stall I place it. (on the floor) I have seen some pretty creative ideas for safe hay feeders on here in the past, but can't seem to find them now that I'm looking (and the search feature won't accept three letter...

    Lots of new foal questions

I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you can help me with. It is a mini donkey foal that will be 10 days old tomorrow. First question....I've only seen her poop once, and that was shortly after birth. I've not caught her in the act since, nor have I found evidence. Possibly the mare...
