    Let's SEE Your 2011 Additions

Just found this thread and realized I have a few to add too! All were impulse buys, although one was a mare I'd always wanted: First was Cross Country Tequila Sunrise, stunning bay sabino straight ASPC yearling filly who has now won several Res. Grands. I'm going to have to get a bigger cart...

    Xray question

Most vets do a lameness exam and then recommend which X-ray views they'd like. It is possible that it is a soft tissue injury/problem and then X-rays aren't indicated. So if you have a good vet, then I'd leave the decision up to him. Do tell him of any history the horse has - was he kicked...

    Horse Haulers

Jan, I don't know who you've heard bad things about (you can PM me), but the last haulers I used were Sharrway. No problems with them. It is best to call them by phone, they aren't on the computer that much that I know of. Which direction is the horse going? I've got some for sale and am...

    stallions frozen semen

So the US based stallion has to go into quarantine in order to collect semen to ship it internationally??? Wow, as a stallion owner I don't think I'd be willing to put my boy into quarantine. My stallions are usually breeding my own mares as well as showing. My boys are beloved members of our...

Put My Money Where My Mouth Is

The sale is stalled right now. Buyer does not have the funds to purchase. So time will tell how this ends. Meanwhile, the horses are being advertised.

    Berner Pups Vid

I love Berners! I bred and showed them for 11 years back in the 80's and 90's. I showed one of my breedings to BIS. I miss them very much. I'd love to get another one sometime. My kennel was named Tanzenbar, and I had a stud dog named Tanzenbar Extra Extra (Rowdy) and also bred De-Li's First...

    Need suggestions (sick horse)

Agreed. This can happen quickly when a mini goes off it's feed. You can also use Karo syrup if you don't have molasses on hand. I've used honey as well.

Put My Money Where My Mouth Is

Well, I've been contacted by someone in Europe about them purchasing some of my horses. Discussion was progressing nicely and the buyer just mentioned the quarantine facility they want to use. I said that I wouldn't use facility 'X'. I mentioned recent allegations of neglect and some personal...

quarantine, please take time to read, this problem is GROWING

Adam - I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to be so far away from your mare. Did the Sherrif say they had reported neglect/abuse after seeing the severely thin horses? I would think that observation would give them the legal authority to...

    Silver Bay VS Liver Chestnut

I think your mare is a bay sabino appy. I have a Shetland mare that looks the same - minus the spots. She tested to be a bay sabino. The give away on my mare is the darker spots on her ears (almost points) and some black running down the center of her mane. It's hard to see in this photo, but...

    Wishes for 2012

First and foremost I wish for a cure for cystic fibrosis - or for one of the protein fixing drugs to come on the market My Dad to have a few more months (or more) of good mobility and health. An end to the drought in TX, so hay prices will go down To find that perfect, wonderful job with a...

    Silver Bay VS Liver Chestnut

I have not tested this boy, but both parents are chestnut in appearance. He is foundation Shetland. I have always considered him to be close to a liver chestnut: I will list a horse on my website as a 'silver chestnut' when I know it is carrying the silver gene. It is more for the...
