I read a lot of romance, but I think my favorite love story is Conagher by Louis L'amour. It's the tumbleweeds that do it, I think.

I love to crochet - I really like to do lace, but I haven't in years. I made this baby blanket for my BFF's baby girl last year. (Photo and baby by her, blanket by me hehe) And this year I made chicken hats for all "my" little people (none of them actually mine ) - I don't have a picture...

Haha! I meant to put a chuckwagon picture, oops! The stagecoach is very cool though - has a plate on it that says it was built in 1920 to one half scale of the original blueprints for the Wells Fargo stagecoach that did the Cheyenne-Deadwood run.

I use the Jerald for everything - show ring, CDE and bouncing across the hayfield everyday at home. We do have quite a variety of vehicles around here though ... speaking of miniature chuckwagons ....

I think you're on the right track. I'm a big believer in making it your idea to move, even if they've only whoa-ed for a split second. The only thing I would suggest is to avoid asking him to whoa at all until he's had a chance to stretch out his muscles and, with any luck, gotten a little bit...

Oh, and Sarah, I'm with you on Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe was the very first book I ever didn't finish reading, and not finishing a book was a fairly monumental occasion in my young life at that time, especially because I'd been quite excited about reading it.

Hogwarts, no contest! I would talk to the paintings, climb the moving staircases, visit the Owlery and Gryffindor tower, eat in the Great Hall and look at the ceiling, visit Myrtle's bathroom, and maybe try to find the Room of Requirement. Then a walk on the ground to visit Hagrid's cottage and...

I'm reading Animals in Translation by Temple Grandin. It is so good, very interesting. I had the opportunity to see Dr. Grandin speak a couple weeks ago for the second time, and I ordered two of her books as soon as I got home.

I'm waffling ... I just ordered a bunch of books, and this one is about vampires. o_O I'll see if I can get to my favorite used book store and look for it there.
