Another New baby is here :)

Stunning little guy! You could tell he was pretty pooped out after his ordeal. Congratulations on getting him out alive and well. You will have some fun showing him, for sure.

Does anyone have a 4-H Club using their minis?

The Minnesota 4H program just added a miniature horse program this year. There have a been a couple of clinics--involving some of our local people like Renee Bush and the Sanseveres--and I believe there was one show this year. Its starting slow but expect it to build over the years.

    Sad news

The local newspapers and TV stations in Minnesota have all been doing some great stories on Eleanor. In all of them, they have at least one shot of her with her beloved minis.

    Sad news

I am thinking that was Artie. She really loved all her animals, and she had a farm full. A few years ago we had a club meeting at her place and every where you looked there was an animal, bird, dog, cat, horse, donkey, etc. She was also particularly close to "Skinny", (Mini Mahals Peter Pan), a...

    Sad news

She definitely had a line of horse treats! I don't remember the exact name but that sounds like the kind of name Eleanor would use, LOL. That was her.......

    Sad news

She was only 51. The Minneapolis Star Tribune has a nice article on her (www.startribune.com) for anyone interested.

    Sad news

I am very sad to report that our beloved club member (and long time MMHC Vice President) passed away this morning. She had been fighting brain cancer for almost 7 years and her spirit and strength was amazing. Up until this year, she was still attending horse shows and living a fairly normal...

Final update on filly with broken leg

Thanks everybody! She will still have to get through one of our tough MN winters but we will see what she looks like next spring. Her dams sire is a national halter, performance and get of sire champion (Lilliput Acres Show Me the Bucks) and her sire is our Tibbs stallion who has done a lot of...

    A Clipping Story

I giggled when I thought about the first time we clipped a horse. Oh lord, like anything else, practice makes perfect. Hang in there.....it gets better.

Final update on filly with broken leg

The things we can learn on here, AMEN. I started out this experience thinking broken leg in a horse was a death sentence. Not so...... My goal is she goes in the show ring next year. She actually had some nice confirmation.... And, of course all that special attention has turned her into a total...

Final update on filly with broken leg

Back in mid-june our 8 week old filly came in from the pasture with a broken leg. After 4 weeks in a cast, 1 week in a splint and 4 weeks of gradually building up her strength and leg, she has healed up very well. I have pics up on my facebook, link below. When the cast came off, the tendon was...

    stallion yelling at shows

Ours do that too, especially the yearlings. Part nervousness and part being young, dumb and full of themselves! Want to make sure everyone looks at them. I agree with Sandee, some correction and time will solve that. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If You Are A Breeder And Want to Sell To Show Homes

Thanks! I was blown away by the amount of gorgeous mares there. Some of the open mare classes had 9-12 horse in them and the difference between 1st and last was miniscule in some cases. Really impressive.

If You Are A Breeder And Want to Sell To Show Homes

I was only there thursday--and it was my first AMHA regional show ever--but I have to agree with the amount of really stunning horses. I was drooling for sure. Our stallion recieved the reserve grand senior ammie and AOTE award in classes of 5. We are on top of the world about that!

    Central Championship Show Results

I actually got to see her and she is very pretty. I would not have known she went through such a bad time. For the first time ever, my husband was able to go to the show with our senior stallion and a friend from SD. I had the wonderful opportunity to fly down there for a day and watch the...

Purina Miniature Horse and Pony Feed

We switched over to this food early in the year for our older show horses (2+ years old) and our brood mares and we really like it. This may have been mentioned earlier, but we had a mare with a very cresty neck and this has reduced it. It's approx, $13.75 a bag up here.
