    Dislocated hip/Locked Stifle

Hello, I haven't been on this forum for a very long time but I still recognize some names. I am posting to see if anyone has experience with a situation we are going through and what their outcome was. I have a big mini mare-almost 40 inches- that on the night of Father's Day dislocated her hip...

How many use heated water buckets??

We use these bucket cozies for our regular flatback buckets. We add warm water as we top them and they work great. Our original ones are Wild Angel brand but our most recent was this one from Smartpak. https://www.smartpakequine.com/smartpak-insulated-water-bucket-cover-11423p

Homemade or purchased toys for dry yard entertainment

We use Nose-It horse toys here with a handful of hay pellets inside. They love them...I bought 2 and then took a jolly apply toy and had my husband drill a 1 inch hole in it and use it like a Nose it with the hay pellets. At Equine Affaire last year I saw a Shires brand horse ball feeder toy...

    Time to choose a cart

Hi Adair! Adair gave me lots of info o her Aerocrown when I was cart shopping...well, at the time I had 3 carts-an Frontier easy entry, a wooden Pequea cart, and a Hyperbike.....all fine carts and fit different niches...but my 'heart' cart is the Aerocrown-hands down. I drive 2 different...

    DVD/book driving lessons/ referral please

I wouldn't stay with mini specific dvds/books.Good training is good training-no matter the size of the equine. I am a bit of a book/dvd/clinic junkie and enjoying learning from alot of sources. I don't train my horses for the show ring, I train them to be sane, sound driving horses. Some of my...

    Rope halters for minis

I have 2 Buck Brannaman rope halters and I love them. They are only as harsh as the hands that use them. They are wonderful for groundwork. I got mine from the Cheshire Horse. I think I got foal and weanling in the regular horse sizes. I don't tie with them. I mainly use them for groundwork...

    Mylar bit

I have quite the collection of bits. My Mylers are the comfort snaffle. I also used a comfort snaffle when I had my fjord. Another great source for bits is Iowa Valley Carriage. Sandee is awesome and takes great pride in the quality of her mini bits. I think I have 4 or 5 bits from her. Angie

    Thinking of retiring from driving

Your pup sounds like a blast I love my Aerocrown. I don't regret spending the money on it for a minute. My filly Dazzle needs to stop growing taller so it will fit her too. You are lucky to be able to be home now. Give it all time and I bet we hear more of your driving adventures in the...

    Thinking of retiring from driving

Hey Adair! We have matching Aerocrowns Hang in there. I have only driven 2x so far this year and last year maybe a dozen since my husband had a tough health year. I wasn't able to devote as much time to driving, so instead we started playing with some Connected Groundwork stuff and Masterson...

    Toys for a Mini?

Look up Nose-it horse toys. I have 2 for my horses and they LOVE them. I put a handful of timothy hay pellets in them a few times a day. For a less expensive option drill a one inch hole in a red plastic jolly apple and add hay pellets. I did that to one of mine so each horse has has a toy.
