    Slow feeder users updates?

I use Busy Snacker slow feeders. I have been using them for 2 years and LOVE them and highly recommend them. I toss a handful of hay pellets in as I stuff them and call them 'jelly donuts" . They are very durable.

Running out of ideas on aggressive mare

Just read an article tonight in Equus magazine March 2012 issue that reminded me of your mare. She ended up being diagnosed with polysaccharide storage myopathy (PSSM). The mare in the artice was a Quarter horse.

Running out of ideas on aggressive mare

Hi Mary, So sorry to hear that you can't figure out what is going on. I don't really know what else to suggest vet-wise, but will suggest more bodywork. I recently started learning/practicing the Masterson Method with my horses. It is sort of like massage. The horses love it and you really end...

    Fly Control while Driving

Hi Katie, I got my ear nets from Just for Ponies...they are like $6 and I trim the tassels if they are too long...I make the ears smaller myself, just takes a minute on the sewing machine. I bet with some fiddling, you could make the back piece of the fly protection in this picture work while...

Long Reining Clinic with Clay Maier

Per Leia's request here are pix of the surcingle. I didn't have it buckled up or the crupper in place, just placed it on Buck. It doesn't come with a backstrap and crupper, I added those. The rings stand up, which I love. The leather is awesome quality. It is 'real' tack. It does come with...

    Lunging

I don't longe a horse under 2. There are lots of other things to expose young horses to and ground manners to work on as well just letting them be horses and grow up. That being said, I don't use longeing as a sole means to burn off steam. Occasionally they need to let loose a bit but I make...

    Driving whips

I have 2 fav. whips. One is a 48" whip w/ a nice lash and popper that I got from Iowa Valley, really nice whip for the $$ I think it is a Westfield and was like $26. My other favorite whip is from MCR whips. She custom makes whips and they have awesome feel and are very lightweight. I think...

    Fellow Fishkeepers / Aquarium Enthusiasts

Thanks Jill! I don't think I would like that slime trail thing from the snails Ewwww! I will let folks know if I try a few shrimp....I thought I read the plecos can be a little mean in too small of a tank...if the shrimp don't help I will just keep scrubbing as it builds up I guess. As a side...

    Fellow Fishkeepers / Aquarium Enthusiasts

Jill, your tanks are beautiful! When you started you inspired me to set up a small 12 gallon tank in my living room. My fav fish are rummy nosed tetras. I am thinking of adding a snail or shrimp to munch on the algae that likes to grow. Any experience with that? Angie
