    Old Horse

I'm so sorry. It's definitely the most difficult part of sharing our hearts and lives with our critters.

    Flicka's progress (big horse)

Brindi's a pretty girl! She looks like she is going to be a big girl with those LONG legs! What breed is mom? What is the sire? Maybe she will get to be Mom's height or better?

What should I do with this mane?

I would just keep it like that and let it grow out, while using a mane tamer/lycra hood to keep it in place to help train it to lay properly as it grows out

First experience with a wildly aggressive little stud horse

If that horse has been kept with a bunch of mares in heat, he will be very sexually oriented. That type of behavior is something I personally would NEVER tolerate! If he's that old, there is a strong possibility that he may never be transformed into a trustworthy child's horse. Truthfully, if...

    Mare Question!

THAT^^^ not laying down is a very good sign that she will foal soon. In my mares, it never failed. I had breeder alert monitors on them, and they would be going off multiple times a night prior to foaling, and it seemed the night before or of foaling, they would not lay down, and I would get a...

    RIP Little Remington....you were loved

So very sorry for your loss.

    Mare Question!

Of course anything can happen, but basing my opinion on her bag, I would say she is not imminent.

    Flicka's progress (big horse)

She looks like her milk veins in front of her bag are full, so that is a good sign that she may be close to foaling. I would certainly keep a close eye on her. She may totally change in her temperament when the foal is born...many do. She may be a quiet mare by nature, and being this close to...

    Mini stud losing weight

I would strongly suspect it is because he is a stallion, and the hormones that go with it, causing him to pace a lot or worry more about the mares than eating. Some are VERY difficult to maintain good weight on for those reasons!

    What type of leather?

I think the indian leather is a thicker, less pliable leather, whereas the other is a far better quality and feels nice and is more pliable. So basically, the difference is the overall quality.

    Neonatal Isoerythrolysis (NI)?

No, Neonatal Isoerythrolysis cannot cause a miscarriage. It is not harmful to the foal until it starts to drink it's dam's milk.

I can't even begin to title this

I am so very sorry for the way things have been going there for you. I don't have a whole lot to say about everything, other than you are right, this is not your husband's fault, nor anyone's. Maybe he can see the load is becoming heavier and heavier for you, and sees he is becoming less...

Maple Hollow Farms 2016 Foal Watch

Paula, with the Miniature Horse Breed, as far as colors and patterns are concerned, "The Sky's The Limit". Since they are a size breed vs a "pure blood" breed, and and all color combinations are allowed, to many, the more wild the color/patterns, the more appealing it is.

How Soon After Can You Show

If your mare is in decent "show" condition, you can show her. The biggest thing is having to separate her from her foal, so for that reason, many people like to wait until the foal is weaned or until the mare and foal are used to being separated for lengthy periods of time. There are classes...

    Year old stallion

If you can feel them at all, they are good to go. They don;t have to be "hanging". I have had colts as young as 5 and a half and 7 and a half WEEKS of age gelded! That was the absolute BEST way.

Exercise and Nutrition last 3 months of pregnancy

Diane, I moved this post from the Mare Stare Forum to the main Forum because there are many nutrition experts that frequent the main forum that may not necessarily frequent the Mare Stare one. She will get much more exposure on the main forum for a nutrition type question.

    Itchy Dog

If it just started due to a change in his food, I would definitely switch him back to what he was on, and decrease the amount fed each day, if it was a weight issue for the reason you changed.

my life has changed-it's a mess

Oh no Bevann, I am sooo very sorry. This is so terrible. I hope you will once again find some peacefulness in your life. (((HUGS))) Best wishes for you, and hope that things will find a way to sort themselves out. Congratulations also, on your weight loss and feeling better for it. I would...

    Bells, bells, bells

I saw some of those too on Ebay, but they were likely regular horse sized, not minis.
