I've had the same problem! There are rescue pyrs I'd love to adopt, but they require them to be indoors! Ours only came in during T-storms, any other time he was happy to be outside. We just had to put him down, and so I'm kinda looking around.

I haven't shown in 4H but , i have friends who have, and I dont think it matters that he only has one eye. Actually my dad knows a guy from work whose daughter has a completely blind horse, and she showed him in he fair, the newspaper did an article on him.

The horse I want them for isn't really a mini, he's techically a pony, so it may be a bit easier to find some for him. I'd say he's about 40 inches or so.I'm just gonna have to do some research until I can afford to buy some. Thanks for your responses.
