I’ve just clipped my mini I live in the uk. mum struggling to know what rug to put on her the people at my yard say ‘she’s a Shetland she’ll be fine’ I’ve explained she’s not like a million time but given up. What temp for which rug? I have fleece, 100g and 200g stable, no fill ,100g, 200g turnout

A lot of people at my yard use baby oil or pig oil to stop mud from sticking. I’m going to try with mine today as she is caked when she comes in

What is a ration balancer?

I feed 1scoop of pony nuts, carrot, sweet itch supplement and hay then 3 more hay nets through out the day and evening. I don’t think she’s over weight I exercise her once a day for at least 30mins lunging which is mostly trot and canter.

I use the parelli method with my mini, she is my first horse I got her in December. She has come on wonders is a different horse so tame and calm! Definitely look into it it’s more about working with the horse rather than scaring it into what you want it to do
