    How's the Weather ?

And today it's snowing! We're supposed to get a lot of accumulation before the end of the weekend. I'll post a picture after it stops. I'm ready to start the Christmas carols now!

    2024 crafter's delight - whatcha working on?

Yes! Exactly @Dreams of Ashes. I'm thinking about using a wrap around tie closure. Not buttons or velcro, just a couple of long pieces to tie together.

    I Did a Thing...

Unfortunately it didn't go through. I needed to see video before I sent money and she had someone who was happy to send money sight unseen so I let him go. Hopefully it's a great home regardless. I have no doubt another will come when the time is right.

    How's the Weather ?

Still no real snow here, but the hoar frost this morning is so pretty!

    2024 crafter's delight - whatcha working on?

I have a lovely friend who is a very talented tailor. She can sew whatever comes to her mind and makes the most divine doll clothes! She's refurbished a number of sewing machines and has graciously agreed to teach my daughter and I how to sew. I have my heart set on creating a winter riding...

    I Did a Thing...

@HersheyMint Don't you worry, your laughing emoji is exactly appropriate! Thank you for your kindness. Yes, I'm very fond, and proud of him! These little animals are just problematic you know... My daughter and I are 99% sure we're buying another gelding. A 41" 3-year-old colt to start...

    2024 Hours Driven

Mr. Falcor was out for another hour yesterday. He's becoming confident up on the road solo as well as in the field. What a rockstar pony!

    I’m Baaaaack!!!!

People who have mules are far smarter than me. I tried once but I just don't understand them. Not the animal for me. Tiny donkey, great. Horses, all day long, but not the pair together. However, they are probably the most fun thing in the world to watch!

    Vanderveen carts

That's a big reason why I got a K-cart. The shafts are curved and adjustable. I'm not sure how Vanderveen shafts would do bent for a more slight animal as opposed to stout. I have several different animals I use mine on, it's the #1 for starting first drives. Matter of fact, I'm considering...

    I Did a Thing...

I'm off the list for Christmas bonus this year from Falcor... We had another great drive yesterday. It was awesome being able to drive him 2 days in a row! I remeasured him for the Cavello hoof boots that I have. They should be a size small but fit him really well in the sole. Unfortunately...

    Vanderveen carts

He reported back that the Vanderveen ride is smooth and has been simple to balance on small and tall. Mindy from Chimacum has a good video on YouTube.

    I Did a Thing...

Thank you @HersheyMint ! He’s such a good kid and has really grown to trust me. I’m really looking forward to next year. I have some goals - hopefully get him cantering confidently in cart and harness and going through water. I’d love to be able to move him up to prelim.

    I’m Baaaaack!!!!

Welcome back! A bit of a disease isn’t it? People ask me if I like horses and I honestly don’t know. I just can’t picture life without them.

    2024 Hours Driven

Falcor out for 45 and Phillippé for 35. A chilly, windy day for driving.

    Vanderveen carts

I have a friend who has a Vanderveen and adores it. Currently he has my k-cart to start his 2 minis in because a Vanderveen is not ideal for starting drives… I’ll ask him his thoughts about fitting.

First steps(or should that be hoof prints?)

I’ve had a blast trying out CDE. It ticks my dressage boxes and gives me enough variety to enjoy it all.

    I Did a Thing...

A cold and breezy day today. I broke out the sleigh bells and we had a delightful drive!

    I Did a Thing...

A driving friend of mine made me a bridle drop for Falcor. I found an auryn on etsy a couple months ago. This lovely friend made a bridle charm for Phillippe's bridle last spring so I asked her if she'd be willing to make another for Falcor. His bridle construction is a bit different so the...

    Donkey story

They are always the favorite, no matter where we go! I'll see if I can find it too. Thank you for sharing, and for the update!
